It has one asphalt runway designated 18/36 measuring 5,200 by 75 feet (1,585 x 23 m). Claremore Regional Airport is located 30 minutes northeast of Tulsa, Oklahoma.
Claremore Regional Airport was originally constructed in 1942 as a training facility for the United States Army Air Forces during World War II. It was known as Claremore Army Airfield and had three runways at the time.
After the war ended in 1945, the airfield was turned over to the City of Claremore for civil aviation use. It transitioned from a military training base to a municipal airport serving general aviation needs.
The airport's name was changed from Claremore Army Airfield to Claremore Regional Airport at some point after the transition to civil aviation use.
Today, Claremore Regional Airport is a vital general aviation airport for the region, hosting corporate aviation, recreational flying, flight training, and annual aviation events. Its history as a former WWII training base gives it a unique military aviation heritage.
