-Point Roberts (1RL) made by Deepfield https://flightsim.to/file/1723/point-roberts-airpark-1rl
-Stuart Island Airpark (7WA5) made by Deepfield https://flightsim.to/file/1667/stuart-island-airpark-7wa5

-Anacortes Airport 74S made by SaigonJinn https://flightsim.to/file/28111/anacortes-airport-74s

Only one of these airports/airfields is paved, many are closed, private & uncharted, some don't have a windsock or any lighting and their length goes down to well around 1000 feet with widths down to 40-50 feet. Robust, light and/or high performance aircraft recomended.

All of the included airports/airstrips have been made from scratch.
I've added and tweaked missing details, terraformed the runways & surroundings,
added the appropriate frequencies, added lakes, ponds & vegetation for the entire area etc.

Not all airport/airfield names & designators may be the official/original ones.
If you have information about their real names and designators, please let me know!

Due to the amount of airports in close proximity of each other, their small size and the lack of usable object libraries,
the extent of added details has been kept rather light.

    Installation:
Drop the individual airport/airstrip folders in your community package folder and you should be good to go!

Any chance you will be working on MSFS 2024 conversions?

    Very Nice, Thank you!

I can hardly wait to try this as I am a real pilot that flew around the San Juans (rented a 172 from Rainier Flight where I trained for my pilots cert) and lived there, had grandparents there and spent a lot of time up there kayaking, flying and more. I really love the Islands but live down in the South Seattle area now as it costs to much to live up there now. Just got MSFS running on my new custom built pc and really enjoying VR with Quest 2 so far. I can't afford to fly real airplanes anymore but flight simming and rc airplanes fills the void.

I see you have Cypress Island airstrip here also, I am excited to see this as I have hiked up there and saw the old airstrip on top of the island, it is really cool but too bad they planted trees all over the strip now and you can't land there anymore, at least you can in MSFS! There is some good history about that strip.

I have yet to download this, but it looks amazing! One airport I don't see on the list is Lopez Island (S31). Maybe I missed it, if not would you be able to add it? It's missing all of its hangars, many of the trees surrounding the hangars are flattened, and it could use cars and fences for character. Anyhow, will download this tomorrow and check it all out.

yes, and i noticed asobo forgot to put any hangers there to, i have been asking for 3 years for som1 to make scenery for S31

Amazing pack for this area! Thanks so much for the hard work.

Would you consider doing a similar pack for Float Plane destinations in the region? Even just creating a pack with parking spots for the Float Plane docks would be amazing as MSFS added these in but did not take the time to give us parking spots so we can start cold.

When I revisit the package, I will try to incorporate some of the floatplane/seaplane bases as well. Maybe not all of them, but it's definitely still on my list. I just hadn't had the time for doing much scenery work the last half year, but slowly getting into it again.

    Great work, thanks a lot!

    However, there are some "bugs":

At coordinates 48.549472, -123.008949 (that area), from time to time a sailboat drives through the terrain and the forrest... ;))The strip at 48.575649, -122.975045 has trees so close to the runway, it's pretty much impossible to land there. At least it does not feel realistic. Maybe you could remove the trees very close to the runway or turm them into bushes

Thanks for letting me know! Appreciate it!

Next time I revisit this package, I will have a look at that boat.

Regarding the trees; it's probably a Wold Update that messed that up, but just to be sure: Are you using some tree or forest mods?

Will definitely put that one on the list aswell for checking!

Thank you. Yeah that boat definitelly needs some work, it's not just sailing through the forest, it's also flying over the water ^^ (it probably takes the terrain hight rather the water hight) and it's animation course crosses some land sections.

Regarding the trees: No, I don't use any tree mods. I know that the short tree mod is recomended, but I can't use that because it messes with some other mods in other places.

But it's not so much the height that bothers me at that particular place but more like how incredibly narrow the runway is cause of some of the trees.

Thanks for looking into it in the next version! :)

Maybe you could also add seaplane harbor "Roche Harbor Seaplane Base" :))

    Wookie042Author

Roger, will have a look when I have some time.

Regarding Roche Harbor, there is a version made by the Return to Misty Mooring people, which you can get over at their page. They've made several sea plane base packs for the Pacific Northwest and Alaska. Give it a look, when you're in that kind of stuff. Great sceneries!

Fantastic pack of fields in a beautiful area!

Add custom buildings to the airfields and move it over to Simmarket and I will be first in line to purchase, what a great location :) It looks good as is also of course but personally I tend to stay away from airfields with default objects.

    Wookie042Author

That would be nice, but for now unlikely mainly due to two reasons.

    1) Time. I wish I had the time for creating custom buildings and objects for my sceneries at the moment, but that's unfortunately not the case recently.

    2) Responsibility. I don't want to be responsible to maintain sceneries that people paid money for. Since MSFS is still pretty much a moving target, mainting scenery compatability is not feasible for everyone at everytime (see reason one).

But I take it as a compliment and maybe some day

I will get around doing some more with those airfields :)

I use this package several times a week.

It would be great if you could take on some of the airports that are on the site already. For example, Deepfield's files haven't been updated forever and one takes up 200MB. I don't think you'd be stepping on anyone's toes.

Wow, this is a wonderful pack! Well, it was already wonderful, now it's... wonderfuller? Thanks for the great work on this!

Thank you so much!!! Been patiently waiting for this update for a long time, some of that field grass really needed mowing!!!

I had zero frame issues and functions perfectly with SU7/WU8 only thing was some rwys looked texture wise very distorted. For those who wish to see it in action I made a video the other day flying in the area. https://youtu.be/Oi1jO2ZLaec

Saw your video. Thanks for showing my Airport. I will try do repair the Taxiway in Anacortes.

    Version History

Version 1.4 Changelog -Added custom aerials to airfields which had a lot of shadows on it and cleaned them up -Replaced the default windsocks with windsocks from the Windy Things Library -Added static and moving boats around the islands -Added smaller piers and docks around the airfields -Added objects to some airfields (on-going) -Added GPS coordinates (got some questions, if all of the airfields actually are real places. Yes, they are!) -Added vegetation -Fixed vegetation issues -Fixed terraforming issues -Fixed some parking spots -Probably some more I forgot right now Known issues: -Windy Things windsocks have a lower draw distance. I've contacted the creator and the issue is worked on as soon as time permits. I may try to build my own animated windsocks if I can wrap my around the process. -The moving boats move slowly in wide circle and may sail through some islands. Please report if it gives some issues. Note: -Some names may have changed, so don't simply replace the files when installing. That's it for now! Enjoy and stay safe out there!
