    Italy - Sassolungo - Image 1

    Description

The Langkofel Group (LadinSaslonchItalianGruppo del Sassolungo) is a massif in the (western) Dolomites. It separates Gröden (to the north) and the Fassa valley (to the south), as well as the Sella massif (to the east) and the Rosengarten (to the west). Northwest of the Langkofel is the Seiser Alm. The highest point in the range is the eponymous Langkofel with a height of 3,181 metres. Taken together, the summits of the Langkofel form an arc which is only open towards the northwest. Within this arc there is only one small mountain, the Langkofelkarspitze, so that the group surrounds a kind of "inner courtyard".

Nearest airport: Bolzano-Bozen [LIPB] (17 nm west)
Otherwise you could download the great Locher Sarentino Airfield [
LOCH] by Alex (15 nm northwest).

The scenery is very nice but there is a buck in the Sassolungo. I also had the Idea to send Microsoft all Photogrametry data to make the world look more realistick (msfs 2024)

Hi! Yes, I can confirm it's compatible with SU9 and Italy World Update.

Ma funziona anche con il WU Italia Malta? Qualcuno l'ha provato?

    Really decent work!

    I love Italia & mountains.

But there are some "bugs" in the textures, so the standard mesh is noticeable. Maybe it's my specific issue, no idea. From a higher altitude your mesh looks fantastic anyway!

After I found great experience with your other scenery Amalfi, I tried this.

I must say again, this great too, detail and blends well with surrounding.

The more plus is the FPS hit is fair.

I spend more time on this sim just to sightseeing.

I'm begging you to do another scenery such as small city with great detail of mountainous area, cliff. (and don't forget FPS friendly too), lol.

I like the idea of bringing the Odle/Sassolungo/Sella area from Google to MSFS, but it's incompatible with the Italian alps 20m DEM (https://flightsim.to/file/14772/italian-alps-20m-dem-high-resolution-terrain-elevation-data-from-lidar-imaging). I haven't checked if it works better with the default scenery.

It does some weird thing where the normal (DEM) terrain and the scenery from this mod are both there and only the higher one is visible.

The same applies to the Odle mod (https://flightsim.to/file/2697/gruppo-odle).

found the same issue with the 20m DEM. but have also issues with the stock DEM (mesh) when i remove the 20m DEM italy and dolomites mesh from troglodytus.

tried als to rename it to x_mycompany-sassolungo in order to change the scenery priority which sometimes helps with scenerey, but no luck in this case.

looking forward to test this. looks so detailed. Would be awesome to also to have Cime di Lavaredo (Drei Zinnen) - any plans on that? thanks

The scenery is great. Hope you don't mind, I ended up making a video of it. The folklore of this mountain is equally fascinating.

Beautiful! They don't blend well with the surroundings, though.
How come the rocks look purplish?
    Can you adjust that?

WOW. Really beautiful. I spend my winter and summer holidays here and I really appreciate the quality and fidelity of your work. I second the request for Alpe di Siusi (Seiser Alm) and Sciliar, although I am aware that Google maps is also inadequate, if you have the time and patience. The Dolomites need scenery like this. As htfey wrote: this is worthy of a paid version.
