    Description

    FBW A380 VC Lighting Mod


    Modeled LCD panel and integral lighting light projections and reflections to enhance night flying, especially for VR users.  Lighting effect intensity is responsive to the corresponding light knob setting.

    Thanks to the FBW team for the A320neo and this A380.  
    (I hope FBW team adopts this mod so I wouldn't have to maintain it)


    Install:
    Delete older version of the mod.
    Drop "xfbw_a380_light_mod_stablebuild" OR "xfbw_a380_light_mod_devXXXXX" into the community folder.
    Any update to the a380 systems.cfg file will require an update of this mod package, you can use the freeware "tkdiff" to compare systems.cfg files to maintain this mod.
    Other lighting mod that touches the systems.cfg file will interfere with this mod.

    pls update this, u cant turn down cabin lights at all with this it just stays on bright and also the left side of the flood lights are insaneley white where as the others are not and more yellow, if u could make this a little more true to life that would be nice, still good tho

    not sure , but is this lighting mod only for VR users? Or can it used on a daily basis too

    Hey there, nice mod - since I've been using it, i've noticed (attached) that light still appears somehow, with everything still turned off (everything being the flood lights, ambient lighting, main panel flood light).

    Without the mod, the cockpit at night was pitch dark, which seemed more accurate. However with the mod, I don't get what's keeping that small hint of light on. Is there any way we can make it darker, or could you eventually tell me what's missing to turn that mysterious light off?

    the lights you see under the glareshield are lights from the LCD panels (they do cast a subtle glow all around, even when displaying black due to light leakage), and the integral lights. if you turn down the panel brightness and integral light brightness, everything will be dark.
    cockpit photos at night are misleading since the cameras set the shutter speed based on the bright areas so subtle lighted areas around the bright spots appear black. if you have a car with LCD instrument panel, this will be evident.

    efis panel only has integral light and blue nd display selector backlighting. those work fine, just use the correct knobs (hint: under the glareshield). overhead integral light and floods also work (hint: use knobs on the pedestal). then you're good to go.
