Fenix A319-A320-A321 Cockpit Light Mod - Image 1

    Description

Fenix A319-A320-A321 Cockpit Light Mod (as of Version v2.4.0.1986, released on 2025-07-28)

With six LCD panels and integral lighting, the A320 cockpit should have more surface illumination from light projection and reflection from LCD panel light leakage.  These subtle lighting cues give the cockpit a sense of space/volume at night for better immersion, especially for VR users.

    v2.5
    fixed beacons in systems.cfg

    v2.4
    BFU A319 SL models added

    v2.3
    SL models added

    v2.2
    A319 and A321 added
    Default VC eyepoint fixed

    v1.2
    Compatibility with v2.2.0.232

    v1.1
    Compatibility with v2.0.0.407

    v1.0
    1) VC lighting now includes subtle LCD screen and flood light projection around the panel, including under the glareshield
    2) Corresponding light projection onto the throttle quadrant
    3) Integral lighting projection under the glareshield
    4) Scale down the minimum brightness of the pedestal flood light

LIMITATIONS: Since I do not have access to the LCD panel and integral lighting brightness knob's "potentiometer" assignment, lighting mod's brightness is not responsive to the brightness knob.  This also means the lighting is omnipresent, even for "cold and dark" (but it's subtle enough not to be annoying).  The only exception is the flood light knob where flood light brightness will affect the associated lighting effects.

    Install:
Drop "xfenix_light_mod" into the community folder.
Any update to the Fenix systems.cfg will require an update to this mod package.
Other lighting mod for Fenix airbus may interfere with this mod

Any updates on bringing this to MSFS 24?

for fs24, 320 is working but haven't figured out how to handle 321 since the light coordinates are offset from the 320 with the fs24 file structure. will give it a little more thought on it.

I don't see any changes using this mod and in fact it messes with the default camera angle for A320 IAE non-SL and SL

    Hello

I've correctly positioned the file in the Community folder, but I don't see any change in brightness. The screen is black with no blue reflection. Or do these changes only appear in VR mode?

this mod doesn't change screens but if you have another light mod it may interfere with this one. and works for both 2d and vr.

Any chance of getting your mod into MSFS 2024? I wonder why Fenix doesn't include the lighting itself as standard.

yes, planning on doing it soon. i did offer fenix to incorporate this mod into their build but they refused, said they don't accept 3rd party mods. don't understand the thinking there, but i gave it a try.

Thank you so much 🙂 Ok...in principle I understand their approach, but then they should implement something themselves. They have done a great job overall, but the fact that the lighting in the cockpit has not yet been adapted by default is puzzling to me 😉

Very cool light enhancement. Only thing that does not work so good for me, is that with this mod there are some jagged lines7reflections on the lower edge of the glareshield and on thet little edge thing that sits underneath the glareshield, above the PFD/ND. I use VR only, Quest 2 with VD on Ultra, so it could have to do with my specific setup/graphic settings.
Thanks a lot for all the great light enhancements and for keeping them up to date.

    EDIT.
I use the Quest 3 with Virtual Desktop. And when I turned on "increase Nominal Range" and "increase color Vibrance" the finite layer of light on the edge is gone for me.

i'm using vr as well (whole reason for these night light mods) and also see the sliver of light under the glareshield. that's the finite layer of light reflection getting aliased so can't do much about it.

    top stuff thank you

I wanna try this. Using also the external lights mod found in https://fr.flightsim.to/file/71669/fenix-a320-v2-external-lights-mod. Checked the systems.cfg, should not be a real problem to merge the systems .cfg files. One question about your mod. Why did you include the camera.cfg? I had my own camarea.cfg's for the Fenix A319/320/321. Will it bring Problems if I did not install your versions in the community folder?

Works perfectly with A320 >> but the A319's MCDU has a white screen.

319 works fine here and mod doesn't affect displays. maybe corrupt panel state?

Oh my oh my, what does "corrupt panel state" mean?
How to know and how to fix it?

I found the culprit - it was a TBM930 lights mod that I didn't see.
Strange how a different aircraft's light mod could influence another aircraft.

I fly a lot at night, very nice addition. Thank you very much.
