    Description

    Open since the 1950s, Pacific City State Airport is located about 75 miles southwest of Portland in Tillamook County, Oregon. 

    It's a short walk from the airport to the beach and Pacific Ocean, while the foothills of the Oregon Coast range mountains lie just a few miles to the East. The combination of crosswinds, terrain and obstacles around the runway can make take-offs and landings here challenging - approaching from the northwest is particularly tricky, with a 300' displaced threshold, and it's advisable to watch out for water fowl and deer. Oh, and the airport sometimes floods at high tide, too, so plan ahead.

    The default airport in MSFS didn't really do the location much justice, so I've given it a complete overhaul, including custom runway markings, and a few custom objects. I hope to add some custom buildings further down the line, but it's now in good enough shape to release, I think.

    If you like this, you might like a flight along the coast to Copalis State or Wakonda Beach State.

    Toured some of these coastal strips, quite nifty and demanding. The only thing that caught eye is default sim's river elevations near the bend.

    Your airstrips look so nice! What is a bit off-putting and what makes me stay clear for now are all those scenery dependencies. You should go payware and make your own stuff 😄

    Thanks! Personally I think it's worth having quite a few of those libraries installed anyway, because so many freeware add-ons use them. I don't really have the time to model all the objects in those libraries, especially when I'd be duplicating other people's work.

    please make it without the use of the Ethnicfs Vegetation library for MSFS 2024 it has not been updated for it and it looks weird when seasons change.

    It's the trees and such from that pack they are not made for the changing seasons so they look completely out of place compared to the msfs 2024 ones that came with the sim

    Weird. When I do a search for KPFC it shows up fine. But when I try to zoom in world view KPFC is invisible. The Scappoose airport is a bit wonky too. It shows up when zoomed-in but the takeoff points are mid runway. Both airports are wonderful once I got them figured out. Thanks!!
