San Diego Oceanside (Bob Maxwell Memorial Airfield) (KOKB) - Image 2

    Description

Centrally located in the heart of the beautiful Southern California coastline, Oceanside is considered the gateway city between metropolitan San Diego and Los Angeles. Located on 70-acres in the San Diego County area of California, the Bob Maxwell Memorial Field (KOKB) at Oceanside Municipal Airport is a general aviation airport featuring a one runway (2712ft), Transient Parking and fuel services.

As for all of my MSFS mod, this small scenery is made from a pilot-eyes perspective. I'm french PPL and San Diego Plus One Flyers member, mostly flying from Montgomery Field (KMYF). I'm real PPL but a rookie amateur scenery developer: this mod is made with 99% of MSFS default objects library and feature massive number of details. The scenery is inspired by high resolution aerial views from Bing and Google maps. It's a mix between the satellite imagery displayed from MSFS and more accurate data found on Internet. 1000+ objects have been added to the default scenery to make in more live and bring a touch of an active area.

Keep the folder structure from the zip (\AirportServices \ContentInfo, \MaterialLibs, \scenery, layout.json and manifest.json at the root directory). Once installed go to KOKB as usual, the scenery is overlayed over the existing default one.

If you love the San Diego area, you should also consider my other MSFS airport sceneries:

Awesome. Thanks Vince. How much does the Simobjects impact perf? I like the models much better. Ive been going a bit object crazy lately but even my older 13700k.4090 seems to run it fine.

I don't know precisely but even if well LOD structured it has an impact. Lucky for you (and me) to not see the difference. Finally, as scenery is still compile with MSFS2020, the SimObject doesn't appeared in MSFS2024. It was a smart move to replace them anyway ;)

Lovely done, had some floating fences upon arrival in MSFS2024, but once the aircraft was at a stand still, they were all at the correct height again. So I assume that is a MSFS bug and not in your scenery. Making a nice tour around more of your airports in the vicinity! Beatiful MSFS photogrammetry with very cool well done airports made by you!

Thank you for the 5* Glad you enjoyed! I've no clue about the floating fences... as well as some windsock down on the ground then suddenly set at correct height ;)

Its too bad we cant download ALL of the SOCAL airports in one package.
    vbazillioAuthor

Yep, I have no solution yet. You can use the collection feature to have all and more in one place ? https://flightsim.to/user/collection/35/san-diego-general-aviation-airports

As every single addon has its own life, it would required to download all so many often.

Amazing scenery. Also this little airport has interesting noise abatement procedures.
I have made a short clip from approach and landing trying to not disturb local residents :-)

Thank you for the video. I watched it and immediately saw erroneous blue poles on taxiways and runway. I'll fixed it in a few seconds, thank you again !
