This is my FIRST addon, so please, be kind & compliant, I'm just trying to enhance the sim in my way, cheers !

Hello everyone !

After almost 20hours of work, headaches & multiple coffees, I'm proud to give you in a BETA version, a watermask made to enhance your overall experience when flying both IFR/VFR around Corfu/LGKF. My goal with this addon is to provide a medium-to-high quality watermask all around the beautiful island of Corfu, in order to make the sea enjoyable, and more true-to-life ! This is the very first addon I'm making for MSFS, and I already know there is some areas that have to be improved, and I will. I'm sharing this project because you can already enjoy it when you're up-there in the skies, you will only notice those smalls glitches when going up close ! So, if you have any criticizm, comments or anything to share in order to help me, do it, I'll love to improve myself :)

Due to the lack of documentation by Asobo, the process of making watermasks is very very very time consumming, if you want to do it well, so I apologize if updates can't be day-to-day, but I'll do my best, and may create a discord server to let y'all know what's I'm busy in !

This product will be updated as much as needed, and I'll try to support everybody having possible issues on the comment (as much as I can though !).

This mod is compatible with :

- FlyTampa's LGKR + freeware version of LGKR

Roadmap :

- Enhance the shape of the watermask, to make it more true-to-life

- Improve the global coverage of this watermask, to cover all approach paths (rnav, vor...), first, and the island as the whole after.

- Add some ships, animals, custom roads, people, close to the airport, to make it even more alive !

- Performances updates IF some people needs, but I don't know why itcould cause some fps issues,I didn't notice any.

Hello everyone !

Quick heads-up regarding the flickering issue happening on every watermask :

I think I've finally been able to create a convincing fix for the well-known flickering issue. I'm still digging into it, and will update all my watermasks when I feel like the fix is ready.

Great work so far! The problem with those watermasks is the flickering depends on angle of view and distance! Same goes for Ibiza and Palermo.

Thank you for the feedback ! I'm actually testing various things that could definitely fix the flickering. I'm also trying to test most common angles when adjusting the elevation of watermask, but can't try every possible one sadly...

Water is everywhere on the planet.....

so watermasks are essentials to the feeling of reality.

Today yet Xplane11 is far better on this.

And water colours are so nice from the sky.

Indeed.. the real problem is that they didnt provide us their tool to make watermasks, just because "it's a very complex tool...". We have to find our own solution to the problem, and I hope someday, other devs in this community will try, like me, to enhance this area of msfs. Thank you for your kind words tho ! 😁

Hello HUGO_JEO! Thank you for your contribution to the island of Corfu. I flew around the island to get to know it and see your application work. I use the Free Airport option here at FLIGHTSIM.TO and notice and flicker in the waters surrounding the airport and Downtown. Excellent contribution, thank you!

I think I found & fixed your issue. I'm sure FlyTampa did some mesh adjustment (which I wasn't aware of). I didn't test with the freeware LGKR before.

Hi man, just to let you know that the watermask appears wrong when you take off from the main airport - the water area on the left is above the actual stock water level. I'm running the beta plus DX12.

Thank you for this beautiful addon. It is very gratifying to see someone working on this theme. I like to travel on the Mediterranean coasts and it is a pity that the coasts in the sim are not more realistic.

Hello everyone ! :)

Today, I'm proud to give you my most beautiful & extensive update since release ! Thanks to your amazing support, I've been able to deliver an incredibly detailed watermask from Μώλος to Γαρδενος :)

Changelog :
- Added watermask on the southern part of the Island
- Added bushes/breed/vegetation, all around the airport + his surrounding
- Ongoing flickering fixes

- New fixes about flickering. Adjusted elevation data
- Added some bushs near the runways, to "hide" the watermask, add some life & be more close to reality. (Need feedback - good/bad idea, more/less density, another kind of vegetation...)

Tomorrow, I should update the file to ensure it's compatible with the new update of LGKR made by FlyTampa.

Hello everyone !

After 2 days of work, I'm proud to let you enjoy a major update :) This one won't be about global coverage enhancement, but is focused on bug fixes. Overall, here is the changelog :

- Completely re-built from scratch the whole watermask, to avoid white tiles
- The watermask is now one single texture : their won't be any overlapping issue, as seen on the VOR16 approach
- Ongoing various fixes about the flickering. I've made sure the watermask won't flicker at various altitudes, angles, weathers...
- Ongoing fixes about shadows

Known-issue : in a high wind situation >13.7m/s, the watermask may flicker. I'm trying to fix this issue, but it appears to be hard to. I'll try the projected mesh option and see if it work, but i'll need time.

No, It won't :)

Sometimes, the watermask seems a bit higher than the water itself, why ?

It's simply a temporary solution to remove flickering from the watermask

In some rare cases, the watermask flicker. Why ?

If you have the right file depend on which scenery you're using (default/freeware LGKR, or FlyTampa's one), and you still experience some flickering when there is strong stron winds for example, this is quite normal, and I can't really fix it atm.
It's due to the waves being way bigger, and they colliding with the wask. I'm trying to figure how to fix it, and will update asap.

Note : it's a very very very odd case, and it won't occur most of the time
