Talkeetna has been rebuilt from the ground up with custom textures for the runway, aprons and gravel areas. Tree placement in the vicinity of the airport has also been completely redone, now exposing the marsh area to the east of the airport, as it should be. The scenery utilizes mostly default models, but does include some custom models, with plans for more in future updates.

Full features include:

  • Custom Runway, Apron, & Gravel Textures.
  • Overhauled tree placement in the vicinity of the airport.
  • Default and some custom models.
  • Overhauls the Matanuska-Susitna river, uncovering numerous gravel bars.
  • Reworked road placement around Talkeetna.
  • Includes the Talkeetna Village Airstrip (AK44).
  • Includes Christiansen Lake Seaplane Base (AK8).
  • Includes the Talkeetna Railroad Bridge POI.

The included "esd-talkeetna-patk" folder should be placed into your MSFS "Packages\Community" folder. The scenery will load the next time you start Microsoft Flight Simulator.

  • A river flatten present in Julysfire's packages causes conflicts with the terraforming done at each end of the Talkeetna railway bridge.
  • Some elevation differences have been spotted along the runway at Talkeetna Village Strip.

For some reason when I load in most of the runway and taxiways at the main airport have a black and white checkerboard pattern on them. Any idea what would cause this? Other than that the scenery looks great.

Well worth a watch if you haven't seen it already! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3p2BxTmWHaA

I'm not sure if ORBX's 5-meter mesh will cut it, but hopefully an improvement.

I watched it yesterday then over and over until I could roughly mark out a flight plan to help with the first flight... Then today, I flew it after downloading Talkeetna!

Great work on the scenery Christopher, love the addition of the seaplane base!

Nice work! I'm wondering if something got broken in 1.15.10 though. For some reason the "Talkeetna" lettering that should be painted on the ramp doesn't show up. I can see the faint outline, but the yellow paint is no longer there. This used to work; I *think* this stopped working after the last update. I've tried running only this add-on in the community folder with the same result.
thank you for this package.
silly request but I'm just curious, do you have plans to add Talkeetna Air Service's hangar (the one of Don Sheldon) in the Talkeetna Village Airstrip?
I think Sheldon deserves it 😊
again, great work.
Very nice...thank you!
Yes it's archived with 7-Zip.. but can be unzipped with either 7-zip or Winrar etc. (ESD's zip works fine.)
Hi, It won't unzip.

Frequently Asked

Questions? Find your solution here.

Why don't I have any Apron/Runway textures?

Please be sure to install Emerald Object Library. As of v1.0.7, custom textures are no longer included with the Talkeetna scenery, but are now a part of Emerald Object Library.

This has been done to minimize the number of duplicate files in ESD sceneries.

I have always really appreciated and admired the incredible work you have done in FSX, P3D and now MSFS. You have a real tallent for scenery design and a great eye for detail! It is reflected in the lengths you go to bring life and realisim to the scenery you create. Hope this helps a little and keep up the great work!

Thank you for bringing a little TLC to my home area. :)
