Microsoft Flight Simulator vegetation enhancement for New Zealand.
What's been done?
LOD has been adjusted also, to strike a balance between low and slow and high flying.
Materials have been matched to real trees in terms of visual representation.
This means the shape, colour, and height have been modified for all species used in the following Biomes:
Northland temperate kauri forests.
North Island temperate forests.
Southland temperate forests.
Nelson Coast temperate forests.
Richmond temperate forests.
Fiordland temperate forests.
Westland temperate forests.
Canterbury-Otago tussock grasslands.
Rakiura Island temperate forests.
Chatham Island temperate forests.
Kermadec Islands subtropical moist forests.
New Zealand South Island montane grasslands.
Limitations:
Due to the lack of functionality on where to put tall vs short trees you may find some taller trees where they shouldn't be but they are based on real heights so this can't be helped until new functionality arrives.
Due to limited materials some trees may not look exactly as in the real world but should look close enough for a better experience until more functionality comes along.
There will obviously be some work to do but this is a huge step in making New Zealand great again in the sim :)

This is a reupload of the file due to an issue with the version name in the downloaded file, causing confusion. - Overhauled New Zealand vegetation - Added Papua New Guinea - included ecoregions.bgl to be added to the Community folder in addition to the xml's. - A good place to start would be NZAA and fly West over to Piha via the Waitakere Ranges ;-)

Hi I it would be awesome if you could update your payware 1 final time to be compatible with WU12 New Zealand. The forests in certain areas are still terrible and the sim compatibility overall with your product I purchased lapsed a long time ago. Please update. Thankyou.

You can simply remove from community folder if you are not happy with how the nz trees show for other parts of the world but in my opinion they are pretty generic anyway It can only improve on the default anyway.

It is indicated a new version 2.0 of March but, when you launch the download, it is always the version 1.8 of February which is proposed ;)

Only changing the color, the grided texture glitch dissapear.

Only subtracting one hundredth the red color, the glitch dissapears :S You must subtract hundredths, not add hundredths. If i add one hundredth the glitch still shows :S
As i said, i can´t explain this, don´t know what game engine rule follows this.
Another grid texture glitch is at line 4520 Modifing it to the gitch dissapears. Sure will be more glitchs for others colors in others BiomeRules, if we would know what causes the problem we could solve it before it shows up.
Another thing i want share for others like me, who have a slow machine and appreciate the fps friendly mods with a minimal visual impact, it´s the draw distance i commented you some days ago.
At the file 10-asobo_species.xml simply replace the lines with to and at the game graphics configuration menu, enable Trees=medium.
With 90, 110 i had 10fps drop when fliying over dense forest areas, and i had to select Trees=low, but doing this the texture transition when the texture rotates is very ugly like we commented some days ago. So with 35, 45 we have the same LOD that Trees=low that cames with your mod, but we can select Trees=medium and to have smooth transitions when the trees textures rotates. This only mods the LOD, not the height of the trees.

With Trees=low in the graphic configuration of the game, this transition is snap. You are seeing one picture and when you turn a little the angle, boom! the next picture of that tree from the new angle, and this, when you are looking to a forest turning it´s a very ugly effect, looks like a rave party of trees xD.
With Trees=medium or higher, this transition is smooth, the front picture of a tree is disappearing little by little, at the same time, the side picture of the same tree is starting to show up gradually.
I´m only requesting if is possible to mod the file for have Trees=medium with the view distance equal to Trees=low.
