This week's community roundup brings a varied mix of updates and newer releases spanning airport scenery, avionics integration, utility software, and large-scale environmental enhancement.

LROP – Bucharest Henri Coandă International Airport (2025)

Bucharest Henri Coandă International Airport (LROP) serves as Romania's primary aviation gateway, handling the bulk of the country's passenger and cargo traffic from its location roughly 16 kilometres north of the capital. Creator rekinowy has been steadily developing this freeware scenery since its initial release, aiming to reproduce the airport's real-world layout as faithfully as possible with handcrafted terminal buildings, aprons, and taxiway infrastructure.

The package is compatible with both MSFS 2020 and MSFS 2024 and includes AI traffic support. The latest update, versioned 0.8.4b, is a targeted hotfix that removes a misplaced tree from Apron 1. The project remains under active development, with planned additions including a military apron, custom ground service equipment, and further environmental refinement. A GSX profile created by community member Likeusb is also available separately for those running that ground handling tool. With nearly 19,000 total downloads and consistently positive community feedback, LROP stands as one of the more complete freeware representations of a Southeastern European hub currently available for the simulator. You can find the add-on at its page on Flightsim.to ➡️ LROP – Bucharest Henri Coandă International Airport (2025).

    Synaptic A220 ACARS/CPDLC Update 2.0

The Synaptic Simulations A220 is one of the more sophisticated narrowbody aircraft available for MSFS, and this third-party add-on from liz3 extends its datalink capabilities significantly. The package implements both ACARS and CPDLC functionality, integrating with Hoppie (primarily for VATSIM operations), SayIntentions.AI, and BeyondATC in an experimental capacity. On the ACARS side, the add-on covers free text messaging, ATIS retrieval, METAR and TAF requests, oceanic clearance, and PDC. CPDLC support includes speed and flight level changes, direct-to instructions, and position reporting.

Version 0.2.0, released this past week, brings compatibility with Synaptic A220 v1.0.4 and adds support for CNS multi-presses. Because this add-on depends on specific internal structures of the Synaptic aircraft, it may require updates whenever the base aircraft receives a significant revision. The developer has noted this clearly and has committed to tracking those changes. For A220 operators who fly on VATSIM or use AI ATC services, this fills a meaningful gap. ENTC – Tromsø Airport, Langnes

Tromsø Airport, Langnes sits well above the Arctic Circle on a narrow peninsula in northern Norway, making it both operationally interesting and visually striking in the simulator. Togstad_SP's long-running freeware scenery has become a well-regarded fixture in the Nordic coverage landscape, built with custom PBR-textured 3D models, accurate runway lighting based on AIP data, and an optional GSX profile co-developed with community member Saurer01.

    ENTC Tromsø Airport Langnes Overview

The scenery is confirmed compatible with both MSFS 2020 and MSFS 2024. Version 2.1.7 delivers a focused refinement: an update to the lower base of the terminal building. While modest in scope, it reflects the developer's sustained attention to the scenery's visual fidelity over time, with the package having accumulated over 68,000 downloads since its original release. The scenery is available at ➡️ ENTC – Tromsø Airport, Langnes.

NavApron is a free standalone desktop application for Windows developed by RobAirYT, designed to serve as a comprehensive flight and taxi planning companion running alongside MSFS. Rather than operating inside the simulator, it runs in a separate window — making it well-suited for multi-monitor setups — and connects to the sim via SimConnect to display live aircraft position on its map.

    NavApron Desktop Companion Interface

The application draws taxi chart data from OpenStreetMap, presenting taxiways, runways, aprons, and gate identifiers at supported airports. It includes a taxi clearance builder with pathfinding capability, departure and arrival mode views, SID and STAR overlays, and SimBrief integration for importing flight plans directly onto the enroute map. The application also includes a virtual airline roleplay module with a logbook and career statistics, as well as a "Full Journey" mode that chains taxi-out, enroute, and taxi-in phases without clearing previously drawn layers.

    NavApron Taxi Planning View

Version 0.7.0, the most recent update, addresses several stability and usability issues: SimBrief now auto-loads both departure and destination airports, the auto-installer has been corrected, taxi paths persist through mode changes, runway naming tags for EIDW have been fixed, clearance logic for EHRD has been revised to correctly handle runway exits, smaller taxiway clearances have been bridged, and a "Clear Session" button has been added. You can find NavApron here: ➡️ NavApron – The Taxi & Flight Companion.

    Italian Coastline (Project Coastline Italy)

Project Coastline Italy is one of the longer-established environmental enhancement projects on Flightsim.to, covering more than 400 kilometres of Italian coastline with added rocks, cliffs, marinas, working lighthouses, harbour cranes, docked vessels, vegetation corrections, and various other details that bring life to what is otherwise relatively sparse default scenery.

    Project Coastline Italy Overview

The add-on spans regions from Liguria and Tuscany down through Sardinia, Sicily, Calabria, Campania, and further, with commercial harbours, small fishing ports, and point-of-interest landmarks distributed throughout. Version 3.1 is a content-focused update that adds a substantial collection of new elements, particularly concentrated around lighthouses and port infrastructure. New additions include the Punta Penna Lighthouse in Vasto, the Port of Vasto, the Isola della Bocca Lighthouse at Olbia's harbour entrance, the Scoglietto Lighthouse in Portoferraio, and multiple lighthouses and historical structures in and around Livorno — among them the Marzocco Tower, Meloria Lighthouse on the Meloria Shoals, and the Curvilinear Breakwater Lighthouse.

Furthermore, the Barcola waterfront and surrounding port area in Trieste has been improved, and several small harbours along the Trieste–Portopiccolo Sistiana stretch have been added or refined. The Portopiccolo and Sistiana Bay area also received attention, as did the Port of Castellammare di Stabia. The full add-on is available on the Flightsim.to Store ➡️ Italian Coastline – Project Coastline Italy.
