    Description

    This is an updated and optimiesed version of my previous Manchester South scenery designed to work specifically with Asobo Great Britain WU3 and their Barton (EGCB) airport.

    It is the perfect accompinament if you fly EGCC or EGCB or just wish to sightsee the Manchester area.

     

    All scenery has custom night lighting

     

    Performance

    Performance is good on my PC with 2070 i5 6600K tested in standard Cesna with settings high and sliders set to 100. (See sceenshots with FPS)

     

    this should work with my older Manchester scenery for city centre and surrounding area or on their own, but updated optimised versions of my other Manchester sceneries will be coming in the next weeks.

    If you have the olds Manchester South sceneries then delete before install. (This package much reduces file sizes of orginal scenery, about 35% redcution total)

     

    Instalation 

    Unzip all the folders (9) into your Community folder from the "This Is Manchester" zip.

    This scenery is a much valued part of my setup but since the latest World update UK there are level and blending issues around the Trafford Center and Trafford Park. May you do a compatibility update ?

    Hi, I have lost many of the original files so an update is unlikely I'm afraid.
    Have you tried the other version of my Manchester scenery?
    I expect it would have the same issues but maybe worth a shot.
    If I recover the original files and find time I will look into a fix.

    Please could you tell me which of your Manchester packs to download? It's become very confusing to me.

    Sorry it has taken so long, you probably have it sorted by now.

    I would take these two and delete any duplicate folders if there are any. (link at bottom)

    And then when you have all the folders extracted you can decide which parts you want to keep and which you want to delete if you have performance issues.

    I would say Manchester extended folder and Cheetham Hill folder would be 2 to delete if you have performance problems.

    If Asobo did decent City Photogrammetry! This is by far the best UK City to fly over now! Thanks Mucka1 - absolutely brilliant! Looking forward to the optimised parts 1 and 3 (I think you said they are coming?) I notice a bit of stutter here and there (nothing major, or show-stopping), maybe the optimised files will resolve this? Keep up the good work. Thanks very much! I look forward to more of your projects!

    Having some issues as broke some files on some other sceneries and been busy with other things but hopefully I will get around to optimising the other scenery parts more as well.
    For now I would just remove one or two of the larger folders for scenery around the city centre and see if that resolves your issue.
    If not then it is unlikely optimised versions will give you perfect outcome as it is probably a sim issue.

    Glad you are enjoying the scenery and like you say my performance and experience is much better than what I get with the official London photogrammetry which won't even render properly for me.
    Hopefully they will resolve it soon.

    looks magnifico! I use MFS ADDONS LINKER ,so its very easy to turn addons on or off to trial scenery so dont be alarmed by my list. however could you clarify what i should disable whilst trying this please...and thanks again

    actually now i have unzipped it it looks name for name on your previous scenerys so should be ok .wonderfull

    Yes if you do not have my Manchester part 3 then just delete all the old folders (do not overwrote them as that will leave unwanted data)
    If you have Manchester part 3 then delete the old Salford Quays part 2 and replace with the new one

    Yes please delete the old folder and replace with the new one as it is a little better optimised. It won't make a huge difference though being just one folder.

    clearly mentioned in the weak SDK manual.
    Please be sure to change modellib.bgl to something unique for each file, like ZONABS-Modellib.bgl. See, please -

    I think the issue is with two or more sceneries using the same modelLib name. If there are no other sceneries in the persons folder with that then - no problem. However I do feel the onus should be on the developers to ensure that they have unique names. This is an oddity with this sim.

    Thank you but,
    I have never been able to repeat the issue. Indeed my three previous uploads with about 20 scenery folders were downloaded a few thousand times without report of this conflict.
    I have tested these new sceneries and they work fine for me and as far as I know for anyone who downloads them.
    If people do not wish to download them that is fine.
    They are free sceneries I took many hours to bring to the flight sim community for free and people can refuse them or if they have any issues report them here and I will take a look.
    I'm not going to attempt fixes to issues that only theoretically exist as I have invested enough time into this already.

    It's very simple to mend downloads with the Modellib issue using https://flightsim.to/file/5972/modellibchanger so either way it's not exactly a problem.

    Not sure if this has been resolved since their last W3 update but the CTD was only an issue for people who had downloaded certain conflicting scenery, therefore to reproduce the CTD you'd have to install the exact same files.
