Installation

Unzip the files to a folder of your choice and run "ModelLibChanger".

    This is included in MSFS Addons Linker by bad2000. Just click tools --> ModelLib Changer

    OK, thanks However I have been in touch with Orbx and they report that is is known problem to MS and Asobo and that the problem now is with scenery that includes their own .cgl files. Orbx say to wait until MS fix the problem.

    Also, I tried renaming one orbx .bgl file and that did not prevent the CTD’s. Orbx also said that renaming the file would not work in the long term as it would be overitten the next time Orbx Central updated the sceneny

    It is a pity that MLC did not help you to avoid CTD. Unfortunately, it can't fix all CTD. If I had the capabilities, I would implement it immediately.

    And yes, some manufacturers don't want to fix their own bugs and prefer to blame it on others. I've had that experience with some small ones and some larger ones as well. For me, I made the decision not to use and buy add-ons or mods from such vendors.

    Investigated a little bit more into the .CGL issue (that's different from the modelLib.BGL!):
    Currently, there is a bug in the sim with the CGL-Files. If an add-on uses CGL-Files, they can be in conflict with Bing Maps Data. Two possible solutions, but none of them really appeal to me:
    - Disable BingMapsData in the Sim
    - rename/delete the CGL-File of the add-on (rename it to another ext then CGL, i.e. ..OFF)

    The CGL-Files of the add-ons provides in most case a ground layer which is in conflict with new Bing Maps Data causes the CTD. Renaming the CGL resolves the conflict, then you have the BingMaps ground layer than the one from the add-on. Sometimes, you will see a difference, sometimes not, depending on the quality of the add-on layer.

    I'm just waiting for the sim-update tomorrow. If it don't solve the issue, I will extent ModelLibChanger to optionally rename/remove the CGL-Files, including a backup and restore function.

    I ran the app once late last night, it listed a large amount of corrections needed, I had them repaired, but now after running it again the same issues are there.

    All apologies, due to a report from a user about a major bug, I had to take the download offline for a short time. Fortunately a false alarm, now back online.

    Note: After selecting a new path, the add-ons are now automatically re-read.

    Perfect work! Thanks! It helps a lot.
    One issue: It brings the message "File count differerence" for some layout.json's although everything is okay. And after clicking "Rename" the layout.json is wrong (contains to less files from the mod). As I figured out the long folder/file-names are the reason. Please can you extend the handling with longer folder/file-names :-)

    Merci la version 9.3 est impec...
    Par contre combien de Go on peut charger dans MSFS car l'Europe représente 115Go soit 1320 links et ca ne charge pas même après 3h d'attente !
    Avec FSX on n'avait pas ce problème !!! enfin ....

    Just ran after backing up just in case.

    All went through smoothly, no errors, most early scenery addons fixed. Many livery file count issues fixed (what are these?).

    Great so far.

    I have reverted to 0.9.1, 0.9.2 seems not to check the whole list and missed the modellib.bgl check, When i went back to 0.9.1 it found the modellib.bgl errors.

    I think the issue was that as I have a lot it might be limited on how many it checks because it gets as far as my LIRZ add on then says "Object reference not set to an instance of an object".

    I notice LIRZ doesnt seem to have a global folder so don't know if that's stopping the check half way through.

    Both working fine for me. 0.9.1 and 0.9.2.
    How can I get the LIRZ airport to check the object reference issue?

    Ok it seems LIRZ is good that's the last successful check, A number of Liveries and aircraft type mods causing issue and half a dozen of airports throwing out the error stopping the read progressing.

    I do not know what you are doing and what you are clicking. All downloads you mentioned have problems with the modellib and are correctly processed and corrected by MLC. I do not get any error message. I will send you a PM to avoid the comment spamming here.

    Hi, the new version certainly shows more discrepancies.

    It would be good to just search modellib issues rather than the whole lot. Both search's are important but may having a ticket box to also search as well will give people the chance to decide.

    Just one additional question: what's the meaning and importance of rebuilding the scenery due to a difference on the file count?.

    The current layout.json of the add-on tells me all files of the add-on. MLC is searching the files in the add-on folder and finds less or more files and gives you the option for a full recreation of the layout.json.
    Normally, this is not a real issue, but can be an issue, if one or more files of the missing/additional files is a bgl.

    Hello again
    I just downloaded version 0.9.2.0 and got it !!!
    I have classified the MODs by category and sub-directory!
    D: \ MSFS_Community-SAV \ POI \ Chateaux \ Chateau_UK castles \ ect ...
    suddenly if I do them one by one subdirectory it works !!!
    it would have to go look for the files in the subdirectories and that it keeps in memory to correct in the right paths ... @ +

    Je viens de télécharger la version 0.9.2.0 et j'ai compris !!!
    J'ai classé les MOD par catégorie et sous répertoire !
    D:\MSFS_Community-SAV\POI\Chateaux\Chateau_UK castles\ect...
    du coup si je les fait un par un sous répertoire ça marche !!!
    il faudrait que ca aille chercher les fichier dans les sous répertoires et que ca garde en mémoire pour corriger dans les bon chemins... @+
