    Description

    Anyone who has lived or grown up in Phoenix has looked to the south and seen these massive structures. As a kid, I would see the blinking red lights at night and they felt so mysterious and magical. 

    This is my first scenery project, I hope you enjoy it!
    I've added over two dozen towers with the correct color and eye-balled the approximate height for each one. 

    Just drag and drop into the community folder.

    PLEASE NOTE: You may have to install PuffinFlight's "We Love VFR" addon in order for all of the towers to display correctly!
    I used some models from his pack (with permission), but that means those scenery objects will not be displayed unless his addon is also installed.

    PLANNED UPDATES:
    -Adding better night lighting to the towers, so you can see the flashing red lights from all across the valley

    This addon works in MSFS 2024 based on my testing. At night, the towers aren't visible from a distance but during the day they look great.

    This is great. My wife grew up in Chandler (I grew up in Glendale) and her parents told her and her sister the south mountain lights were Santa's elves getting ready for Christmas. Now cut to her being like 12 and joyously telling her friends that one night when they noticed the lights. She's still traumatized by their reaction. lol!

    There is an antenna farm in Fort Lauderdale/Miami Similar to this one. I have We love VFR installed but I'm hardly seeing any group of antennas. The real-world radio towers are tall just over 1000 feet. I do see smaller antennas, but not as standing out as these, but it's very similar to what's shown here.

    I have that add on a took off from North Perry 19R and just to the E of Hard Rock were all the towers I remember. Try it

    Confirm. Towers are missing in SU 5. Buildings and tower shadows on the ground are still there,

    Yo i just found this addon great stuff! DO you think you could figure out how to fix alot of the incorrect water around PHX? Alot of the DRY washes are showing up as giant lakes in PHX and are vary unrealistic like the one out near Surprise on the West Valley its dry out there but the wash on bell rd shows up as a lake. Would be a cool project.

    In terms of making these tower red lights a lot brighter, could you possibly use this mod to accomplish a revision to your wonderful Phoenix South Mountain towers mod? Many thanks!

    That's not a bad idea! I know the biggest issue I was having was the draw distance, many of the lights I added would only load in a mile or so away from the towers. But I haven't tried this pack yet and will certainly give it a go. Appreciate it!

    Great addition to the Phoenix area. South Mountain towers are one of the oldest and most recognized landmark in the Valley of the Sun! One revision badly needed... Red blinking lights need to be 5x brighter to make your scenery more realistic. Thanks again for your work!

    I couldn't agree more. Flying out of KCHD at night you can’t see the lights until you get a few miles out. I did notice some lights are not at the top of the tower. Probably need the developer of We Love VFR to fix

    Fantastic! great addition left out on default scenery. Another area that could be
    looked at is Sandia Peak in Albuquerque. No Antennas that are very visible
    from city and no world known Tram way to Sandia Peak.
