Hello Folks

I am still working on my EDHK Kiel-Holtenau scenery and about this I am creating some stuff.

Today, I want to share my EDHK Lights & Objects Developers Pack as an usable Asset-Pack. It contains many different light types (3D modeled & non-modeled) and furthermore some other modeled 3D objects, everything is created by myself.  So if you are a scenery or airport creator, feel free to use them within your freeware/uncommercial projects for MSFS 2020. About this, please take a look to the included "Disclaimer.txt".

This package is no usable MSFS 2020 scenery, its only a Asset-Pack for developing sceneries or airports!

The current pack includes the following stuff:

■ ADDED - different flashing light point
■ ADDED - different light points
■ ADDED - different rotating spot lights (for lighthouses)
■ ADDED - different obstacle lights with and without pillar (3D modeled)
■ ADDED - different flood lights 110°
■ ADDED - different spot lights 45°
■ ADDED - different maritime lights
■ ADDED - Blinking orange Runway Guard Light inlay (3D modeled)
■ ADDED - Taxiway Lights (3D modeled)
■ ADDED - different ILS localizer Antenna (3D modeled)
■ ADDED - different Radio Antenna (3D modeled)
■ ADDED - different Glideslope Antenna (3D modeled)
■ ADDED - Airport Mast with Mobilphone Antenna (3D modeled)

The most lights use Day/Nightcycle. Every light has an extra plane underlay for a much higher visibility at night/distance. You have to scale some of the 3D models up or down to get the right size you need for your scenery. As example, my blinking Runway Guard 10W light inlays, scale them down to nearly 0.245 .

Sometimes its very usefull to add a red point light above a modeled obstacle lights.

So, if you need a light for your lighthouse, modeled 3D objects or obstacle lights and much more, then you can find a lot of useful stuff within this package.  I will continously add more stuff to the Asset-Package. You find a "Changelog & Install" text file inside the Zip file.

If you want to find them in the objects-list of the SDK scenery editor, simply type "EDHK" into the objects-console. All my objects using "EDHK" as prefix. Furthermore you can simply type things like "50w", "150W", "red", "warm_white", "cool"_white", "green", "pink", "purple", "turquoise", "flash", "taxi", "glideslope", "obstacle", "rotation", "ILS, "Antenne", ... in the text field to find what you need.

You don´t need my EDHK Kiel-Holtenau freeware scenery to use the stuff inside this developers Asset-Package!

I'm always open to suggestions for improvement, praise and criticism. If you have any question or something else, write a PM or join my Discord EDHK support server for MSFS2020 & XP11. You can find it here: EDHK Discord Support Server

I hope you will enjoy my EDHK Light & Objects Developers Pack and your feedback is always welcome! ;)

Wish you all fantastic flights & keep healthy,

Hi! I wanted to know if the update is compatible with scenery containing assets from the previous version? Or would I have to replace the objects?
  • MrMo

Yes it is possible but currently, I am very short on time because family, job and other hobbies. I am still developing EDHK Kiel-Holtenau,too. Modeling for the EDHK scenery needs a lot of time. Cant promise anything but I will see what I can do.

Thank you for all your hard work, giving this wonderful pack to the community. Anyway you can do the flashing lights in the pavement for hold short lines? I know it may be a monumental ask, but would be so awesome.

Example in this video starting at 2:54 https://youtu.be/_Aqwtaj1bOg

is there something else you need and that I should include in the Dev-Pack?

Hi Mo...I believe the filename modelLib.bgl can cause some issues with CTD's. There was a notice awhile back to rename this file to something unique like mrmomodelLib.bgl in your package definitions and recompile. I could be wrong on this but worth looking into...
    • MrMo

Currently I have no CTD reports about my Dev-Pack but anyway I will take a closer look into your suggestion. 😉

The problem isn't necessarily that "your" mod can cause a CTD with the modelLib.BGL filename, but if a lot of mods with the same modelLib.BGL filename are installed in a users Community folder that can cause CTD. We need as many modmaker to change their filenames as possible to avoid this.

What do you need exactly and what should I add into my package?

Give me a short feedback, please!

White flashing beacons as the red ones; would be cool to have also some lights flashing faster. 😊

Also some new colours are highly appreciated.

Hi! I love your work and I wanted to include some of its lights in an airport I'm developing that I want to share later in here (flightsim.to) as a free addon. I was just checking to be sure if that would be okay or if you would rather have me ask for your permission 😊. Thank you!
    • MrMo

Of course you can, use it when your work is pure freeware. I am happy when it helps to create more freeware addons for MSFS 2020. Thanks for your work for the community, too!

Another thank you for the 5-Star rating! 😉

Great! Thank you very much! One last question, if I use my airport that has some of your lights, I realised it doesn't work if someone doesn't have your asset pack on the community folder. So I was wondering, for uploading my scenery here, should I include your pack in the upload (making it clear that it was made by you and not me of course), or how would you say I could it? 😊
    • MrMo
      3 month(s) ago
If this is a good solution for you, do it. Its no problem! 😊

But dont forget, if I update the package, you have to update your package too!
