    Description

    Hey there! This enhancement removes the Freedom Tower from SamScene's NYC Times, to be compatible with Arkid77's Twin Towers Enhancement: https://flightsim.to/file/81453/the-original-world-trade-center-complex-2001-twin-towers

     

    This download ONLY contains a folder which consists of an exclusion file for the entire WTC plaza in SamScene NYC. You NEED to have the above file to see the WTC plaza as it was from 1973-2001.

     

    HOW TO INSTALL: First, open the downloaded ZIP folder. Then drag and drop the folder within it named "xxx_NYC-WTC-Removal" into your Community folder, then you must RENAME the Arkid folder to "zzz-arkid77-scenery-world-trade-center". This ensures that the sim (which loads addons in alphabetical order) will load the exclusion file first and only then the scenery file. Leave the SamScene folder's name as it is.

    Nice, but I just have one problem why did you remove 200 West Street and the Woolworth Building
    that isn't apart of the WTC please fix that

    I do alot of flights with classic airlines MD11 A300, 727, 707,ect makes for good photo ops on approach to JFK aside from that its just good bit of background scenery

    There certainly will be twisted individuals who do this, and I find that repulsive. I won't allow those sick people to ruin this amazing mod, which honors all of NY's finest, and everyone who was affected on 9/11, as well as those of us who prefer to remember America before terrorism. The good of this project won't be dimmed by the awful actions of those who celebrate the horrific attacks.

    Look great! I did everything as instructed yet still the One World Trade remains, im using the MSFS 2020 t and the 1.5.1 version of Samscene NY

    Hmm, can you list the exact steps you did and share the exact filenames in your Community folder for both my scenery and the Arkid77 scenery?

    For the Arkid77 scenery
    i renamed the folder; zzz-arkid77-scenery-world-trade-center, and the for the removal of the One WTC;

    Try clearing the SceneryIndexes folder, then re-installing this. Also make sure that your SamScene folder begins with any letter before x.

    Hi sorry for the long delay but what i did was delete the samscene new york scenery and did what youj originally instructed and it WORKED however it only got rid of the DEFAULT One World Trade center not the samscene one. Would renaming the samscene new york the same way with the zzz work?

    Hi, no, renaming the samscene folder to "zzz" won't help. If you're still having trouble, I suggest doing the process one step at a time. First, re-downlaod my file, and Arkid77's file. Delete the old ones from your Community folder. Add "zzz-" to the beginning of Arkid77's folder's name. Then drop my file into your Community folder, and ensure it is named "xxx_NYC-WTC-Removal". Make sure you have SamScene's NYC Times present, and then fire up the sim.

    May all heroes and people who died on flight 11,175,77,and 93 who were innocent except the hijackers rest in peace the FDNY fighters risked themselves to go into the buildings and died the people on flight 93 attempted an overthrow but these people were brave and the emergency services suffered terrible losses so may all people who died rest in peace and may never be forgotten.

    It doesn't seem to work for NYC Times Version 2. I did the file rename for the WTC mod but doesn't remove the Freedom Tower and set

    If you're referring to the 2024-compatible version, you are right. Somehow Asobo managed to make it that exclusion rectangles don't work from 2020 to 2024, it has to be done natively. Given that I don't own 2024, this fix will remain exclusively for 2020--for now.
