    Description

    Hey there! This enhancement removes the Freedom Tower from SamScene's NYC Times, to be compatible with Arkid77's Twin Towers Enhancement: https://flightsim.to/file/81453/the-original-world-trade-center-complex-2001-twin-towers

     

    This download ONLY contains a folder which consists of an exclusion file for the entire WTC plaza in SamScene NYC. You NEED to have the above file to see the WTC plaza as it was from 1973-2001.

     

    HOW TO INSTALL: First, open the downloaded ZIP folder. Then drag and drop the folder within it named "xxx_NYC-WTC-Removal" into your Community folder, then you must RENAME the Arkid folder to "zzz-arkid77-scenery-world-trade-center". This ensures that the sim (which loads addons in alphabetical order) will load the exclusion file first and only then the scenery file. Leave the SamScene folder's name as it is.

    May all heroes and people who died on flight 11,175,77,and 93 who were innocent except the hijackers rest in peace the FDNY fighters risked themselves to go into the buildings and died the people on flight 93 attempted an overthrow but these people were brave and the emergency services suffered terrible losses so may all people who died rest in peace and may never be forgotten.

    It doesn't seem to work for NYC Times Version 2. I did the file rename for the WTC mod but doesn't remove the Freedom Tower and set

    If you're referring to the 2024-compatible version, you are right. Somehow Asobo managed to make it that exclusion rectangles don't work from 2020 to 2024, it has to be done natively. Given that I don't own 2024, this fix will remain exclusively for 2020--for now.

    Fantastic fix, thank you for taking the time to provide a solution for this much needed scenery.

    Is there any chance you could write an exclude for the JRB helipad next to the staten island ferry terminal as the samscene pad overlaps the newer WU Asobo version which is a much nicer and aesthetic version than the older Samscene version.

    Yeah I can do that, but you would need to copy your Asobo KJRB to your Community folder and rename it "zzz-microsoft-airport-kjrb-ny-downtown-manhattan-heliport" so it will not be excluded too.

    That would make sense then.
    Sounds pretty straightforward I think to mod and move the relevant file.
    It would be awesome if you could take it on then and would be very much appreciated.

    Although I really do like Samscene's NYC, it starting to show its age in places.

    It truly brings the beauty of New York to forefront, excellent. It is like Movies. No matter how many
    remakes. No Matter how many new towers they will build on the place of the twins it will never be the same. World trade center is no more, except in this beautiful addon

    I downloaded this file, but it removes the freedom tower, but also the twin towers, and it left me with the in game version of 1 WTC, is there a solution for this?

    Yes, read the description. You need to change the Arkid Twin Towers file's name to "zzz-arkid77-scenery-world-trade-center".

    Thank you man! I am a photographer in real life :) but this simulator is absolutely stunning. I can't even imagine what FS2024 is going to look like, they said there's a much better lighting engine.

    Glorious! You know, as the world becomes a more troubling place, I'm starting to see the charm of disappearing into a preferable Matrix style simulation. Thanks for making it that much more appealing. I think. LOL.
