Description
NOTE: The dependancies listed in the dependancies section are required for both FS2020 and FS2024.
FS2024 Section
V1.1 03 Dec 24
- Stage 1 conversion to FS2024. Fixes missing buildings, corrects terrain and textures.
- Makes the airport work fine and look fine.
- Look out for further fixes and updates as I discover cool things in the new SDK.
V1.2 19 Dec 24
- Changed the terrain pathing references for the new terrain engine to read the surfaces correctly into FS2024.
- Minor change to the helipad.
V1.3 26 Jan 25 DEPENDANCIES HAVE CHANGED
- I felt like giving new life to this airfield so I have made a lot of changes.
- Added a whole lot of eye-candy and gave it a new look and feel.
- Redid a lot of the ground textures.
- Fixed the horrible default FS2024 Western Australian vegetation which is just too sparse and boring.
V1.4 05 Dec 25
- Added the proper FS2024 Helicopter Parking for cold/dark starts. Look for Helicopter Parking xx
- Added fuel station lighting.
- Made other minor additions and texture work.
- Final check before SU4.
V1.56 01 Jan 26
- FS2024 version update.
- Replaces/substitutes many missing objects/buildings caused by SU4.
- Fixes lighting issues also caused by updates in SU4.
- All of my scenery is now being checked for this total mess they caused us Dev's.
- Adds taxiway exit lighting from the main runway(s).
- Some other minor fixes and additions.
FS2020 Section
Note your sim must be up to date with all world updates installed. You do not need any photogrammetry installed, just the base world updates as I borrow scenery from those resources. I also recommend to install the UK2000 Scenery Library which is free in the Marketplace and used by many devs, including my work.
Bruce Rock is a town in the eastern Wheatbelt region of Western Australia, approximately 243 kilometres (151 mi) east of Perth and 48 kilometres (30 mi) southwest of Merredin. It is the main town in the Shire of Bruce Rock. It lies about halfway from Perth to Kalgoorlie Airport, one of my recent and most major rebuilds.
V 3.4 (6 Aug 24) NOTE THE DEPENDANCIES HAVE CHANGED
- Full rebuild to bring this airfield up to a high quality build, includes custom multi-layered ground textures.
- Added a GA Hangar you can spawn into.
- Reworked the apron and runway.
- Added new objects, removed old ones.
- Removed MSFS artifacts, shadows and blotches for a clean look.
- Rebuilt the grain silo in the nearby field and added vehicles there.
- Added a hidden parking spot beneath the helistart (Parking 100) to allow chopper pilots a cold and dark spawn.
Many of my earlier WA airfields are getting payware qualitty rebuilds, so follow my work if you haven't already.
Tip:
Don't forget to reload your Little Navmap scenery library now and then in order to keep your new airfields accurately portrayed within it. This way all your new taxiway designations are updated among other things.
LNM automatically searches through your community folder during the process which runs in the background so you can keep simming.
From the menu bar of LNM: Scenery Library | Load Scenery Library | press Load. When finished, press Use Database.
Instructions:
Unzip and drop into your Community folder. Overwrite if already exists.
Enjoy.

Just downloaded Bruce Rock and then flew up to Merredin, where I lived for a few years in the 80's.
You've done a great job of Bruce Rock - any chance of having a look at Merredin?
I'll be looking at your renditions of Kalgoorlie and Southern Cross too .
Again - thanks for your efforts.

The airport code is YMDN.
The land was bought freehold by China Southern Airlines in mid 1990's and used for training pilots, but I believe now it's just another bush airstrip.
I lived in Merredin from 1982 to 1986 but haven't been back for years now.
