    Description

    Friedman Memorial Airport (IATA: SUN, ICAO: KSUN, FAA LID: SUN) is a city-owned public-use airport in the northwest United States, located one nautical mile (2 km) southeast of the central business district of Hailey, the county seat of Blaine County, Idaho. The airport is operated by the Friedman Memorial Airport Authority under a joint powers agreement between the city of Hailey and Blaine County. It serves the resort communities of Sun Valley and Ketchum, and the surrounding areas in the Wood River Valley.


    Friedman Memorial Airport, the gateway to Sun Valley, is built on land donated to the city of Hailey by Leon and Lucile Friedman in 1931 and named in memory of their father, Simon M. Friedman. Simon was a local merchant and rancher who arrived in Hailey in the 1880s and served as mayor from 1909 to 1913.


    Please make sure your MSFS 2020 is updated with ALL the regions. Make sure you check the list of dependencies. They are HIGHLY recommended to bring the airport to life. We have added a few to make your experieince even more enjoyable. Remember that downloading a dependecy is a one time process! Once you have them on your local PC, you never have to download it again.

    good morning..happy that you like the airport...we are planning to recreate in 2024 once the sim settles down and things work......might be a bit, but definitely planning on it....it should work pretty well in 2024 as is.....again, thanks for the kind words.

    Thanks for the kind words...It was a lot of fun for us to create the airport. It actually came as a request from of one the viewers.....really glad we did it! Maybe you can check out our other sceneries. I think you might like them as well. New ones coming very soon......an updated KCGI and and a brand new all #D custom KVYS. Thanks again.

    I recently discovered this add-on. Big improvement from the stock airport, which was pretty bad. I didn't see it mentioned, but I'm seeing some flickering textures. There's a runway texture by the mid-field wind sock that is flickering, and the two signs that were added (the Fly KSUN signs) flicker when at a moderate distance from them. There is also a harder to see flicker on the runway close to the wind sock by the B6 taxiway. For this one I had to be at some distance for it to trigger.

    Can confirm, the runway and sign flickering is gone for me on this latest version. Thanks for the quick turnaround. This is a fun are to fly around. The mountains and valleys give you something to do.

    Amazing....thank you so much for sharing that.....It looks great from your sim...I really appreciate the effort. If you want, download: KFLY-Meadow Lake Airport and you will get the last row of open hangars that seems to be missing after you made that right turn onto the taxiway??? Regardless, thanks again for sharing!
