Description
Welcome to Grants - Milan Municipal Airport (KGNT), located in New Mexico, US. It is an airport owned by the City of Grants, with many decades of aviation history under its belt.
About a dozen planes are based at KGNT, along with one medical helicopter, also known as Phi Med 53, that provides Air Medical services in the Grants area.
Located next to the airport, Grants-Milan Flight Service Station, nowadays the Western New Mexico Heritage Museum, tells the story of the early transcontinental airways that were laid out with beacons. Grants was then part of the Los Angeles-Amarillo Airway (LA-A).
Installation: unzip the contents and drop the folder tumbleweed-airport-kgnt-grants into the Community folder.
This scenery features:
- completely reworked ground layout with new runway and taxiway placement to fit the Bing aerial imagery and to match the actual layout
- improved taxiway signs with proper naming (A1-A7)
- custom FBO building
- medical helicopter base with custom buildings and library objects
- Grants Flight Service Station with custom buildings and library objects
- partial fencing around FBO and helicopter base
Being a novice in Blender, the custom made buildings reflect various techniques I tried, so they may vary in quality.
Requires colinj's library 'MSFS 2020 object library with 200+ models...'.

The helicopter used in the screenshots is Cowansim's H125, which is not part of this scenery package.
v 1.2 "Helipad and People" :
- reworked medical helipad, now more true-to-life
- added LODs on helipad to avoid performance impact farther away
- added a few people around the airport
v1.1:
- corrected windsock orientation, should now be correct for all
- added MIRL (medium intensity runway edge light)
- added fire extinguisher next to helipad
To update, please remove the old folder and replace it with the new one.
New Mexico is a great place to go flying, both in reality as well as in the simulator. Sadly, only a few custom-made NM airports are available so far, but I will try to improve one or the other NM airport in the future.
If you are familiar with KGNT, please let me know if you have any suggestions regarding scenery improvements. Any detailed imagery or useful information about other New Mexican airports is also welcome and will increase the chance I will be able to do an improved scenery.
