Nantucket Island is an absolutely gorgeous location just south of the elbow of Cape Cod in Massachusetts. Once famous for whaling and sailing, it's main business is now tourism. It still retains that New England charm of sea-worn gray shingled homes, federal style brick buildings and steepled churches. A 3 mi walk or hop a $3 shuttle into town will reward the visitor with cobbled streets, a view of the docks on the bay, restaurants, artisan and clothing shops, and a wonderful atmosphere. And of course there's bike rentals for exploring the island and beaches available all around the island (including one with a view of planes taking off or landing from runway 6 :) )
Nantucket Memorial Airport is a public airport on the south side of the island, and is the second-busiest airport in the state, after Logan International Airport, thanks to the high rate of traffic in the summer season. In the late 1930's Leslie Holm and his former test pilot friend David Raub plowed over and smoothed Leslie's farm fields and started Nobadeer Flying Service with three small planes they used for charter and flight instruction. In typical New England fashion, Holm's house is still standing, surrounded by airport buildings built around it. The US Navy took control of the airport during WWII. The bunkers they built are still standing and used for storage by the airport. After the war it eventually reverted to ownership by the town of Nantucket to provide public transportation to the island. The terminal was upgraded in 2009 with an additional 18,000 square foot expansion on the existing 12,000 square foot terminal that had originally been built in the 1950's. The major goal being to segragate Air Taxi passengers from the airline traffic which passes through the airport. The air taxi traffic is mainly through Cape Air and their Cessna C402's, along with some other services. Airline traffic consists mostly of JetBlue E190's, and Delta Connection/American Eagle/United Express CRJ200/700/900 and ERJ-145 regional jets operated by Republic Airways (RPA-Brickyard). FedEx operates through ACK by Wiggins Airways, and UPS and the USPS both have facilties on the North end of the airport by the end of Runway 24. In fact, USPS has their own ramp. I've assigned these airlines to the appropriate parking spots on the airport. I'll probably be releasing some of these liveries at a later date.
I've updated the taxiways to the latest configuration (A between E & G has been closed, and H between E & G was opened). In fact, E & G are currently closed between 15 and the start of 24, but I left them open as they're only resurfacing them now and they'll be open again in a couple weeks. I just flew there on 5/9/21, and made a bunch of corrections based on my visit there.
To install this scenery just copy scenery-ma-flyingscool-kack directory contained in this zip-file into your Community directory.
Looks ok in FS2024. Some of my tree modfications didn't translate well, so they're a little sparse. Everything works, tho.

Too many dependencies. Unfortunately, some of them caused texture conflicts for me with other airports so i won't be using them with yours. I only have Mike's assets and Dave's packs (hopefully that's enough).
Shame because i want full immersion:(

There was a bug a while back regarding textures, in that somehow textures were globally visible in the virtual files system and they weren't supposed to be. You might want to try reloading the other libraries again and see if they're working properly again. I think they fixed the bug.

Fantastic update. Having flowing into KACK dozens of time on Cape Air, I really am impressed by the high level of detail in this package. Nice work! Now please do KHYA so I can replicate my Cape Air flights!!

I think I saw somebody just released a payware KHYA. I haven't purchased it yet, so I can't vouch for it.

Just curious what your thoughts are on HYA (assuming you purchased it)? Looks pretty good from the screenshots, I'm just concerned because it requires me to run an .exe which is a bit unusual.

I just picked it up yesterday. I didn't compare it to stock, but, it's ok. Given it costs as much as a McDonald's meal, and I don't eat there anymore, I picked it up. I'd like to see it have more life, but I won't be getting rid of it. One thing to note is it suffers from the mycompany\modellib.bgl issue, so you'll need to fix that (rename both to unique names and update the layout.json). Other than that, no issue. It installs to your community directory.

Are these assets and EGOV required to make KACK work or are optional?

I used some vehicles from EGOV. The airport "works" without them, but you'll be missing a lot of scenery items around the airport.

What a fantastic freeware addon for such an iconic airport. If you have never watched the show "Wings" you are missing out, this is the airport that show was based around. The recreation here is absolutely fantastic.
