Description
KFTY Fulton County Executive Airport/Charlie Brown Field
Fulton County Airport (IATA: FTY, ICAO: KFTY, FAA LID: FTY), also known as Charlie Brown Field or Brown’s Field, is a county-owned, public-use airport in Fulton County, Georgia, United States. It is located six nautical miles (7 mi, 11 km) west of the central business district of Atlanta. The airport's name comes from the nickname of former Atlanta politician Charles M. Brown, who served on the city council and county commission during the 1960s. It is also called Charlie Brown Airport or Brown Field. On the radio, however, it is referred to as "County Tower" or "County Ground".
This scenery includes all buildings from the airport based on satellite data and street view images available on Google at the time. All models are handcrafted including one open hangar with rear and front animated doors. The doors are open from 6am to midnight local time or they can be open/closed by hiding/unhiding the flight yoke during hours that they are closed.
Runways
Two of the once three runways no longer exist (closed 14/32 and 8L/26R) and was removed from the scenery. The west side of the airport now have a new hangar and based on the current satellite image, there is room for another three hangars or more. Runway 8L/26R is now taxiway W. It's not known what future plans there are for runway 14/32. The airport diagram just show X's indicating that it's closed and as of that diagram there is no taxiway name assigned, but I included a blank taxiway line instead of the runway.
