Description
This project is my custom recreation of NAS Patuxent River / Trapnell Field for Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024, built to bring a major U.S. Navy test-and-evaluation airfield to life with a more believable military layout, better ground detail, and an airport environment that “feels like Pax.”
In the real world, NAS Patuxent River sits on Maryland’s Chesapeake Bay / Patuxent River area and is a major hub for naval aviation RDT&E; it’s also home to Naval Air Systems Command and related test organizations.
Real-world baseline I’m aiming to match
To keep the mod grounded, the airport layout work is anchored to the published, real-world airfield data:
Runway 06/24: 11,799 × 200 ft (asphalt)
Runway 14/32: 9,732 × 200 ft (asphalt)
Runway 02/20: 5,021 × 75 ft (asphalt)
NAS Patuxent River is also a towered, military/private-use field with published comms (tower/ground/approach)
What this mod focuses on right now
This package is built as a “hands-on” airport/scenery improvement—meaning it prioritizes the stuff you actually notice when operating there:
A more authentic NAS environment: ramp/ops areas laid out to feel like a working military installation (not a generic civil airport).
Operational clarity on the ground: an emphasis on readable taxi flow, signage/markings behavior, and lighting consistency so the field works day/night.
Designed for military ops in-sim: space and logic that supports fast turns, ramp parking that makes sense for larger aircraft, and room for static/ambient activity.
I will add ILS to Runway 6 soon, and I will complete OLF Webster to add to the package
**If anyone can model a catapult system I will add it to the TC-7 site like in real Life**
**Also If anyone can mode the E-28 arrest gear system I will add those as well. Shoot me a message and let me know**
Is made with 2 DeltaSim E-6's, not sure if you need the pack or not. Enjoy

Since MSFS has no military AI, I'd love to see more static military planes parked around the base.

If you ask 'Google Gemini' how to place catapults and arrestor devices on airports, there is a detailed description how to achieve that using MSFS 2024 SDK. Don't know whether it works.
I made some test flights with IFE's F-35B on your KNHK and found a funny easter egg: There is a stock scenery object 'Airport_Light_Fence_Type1' on RWY 20.
Looking forward to updates.
