This is my first airport mod with handcrafted terminal building, although I've been regularly using Blender from 2.4x.
Pokhara International Airport is the third airport in Nepal which is capable of accommodating commercial jetliners. A hangar for Buddha Air is built which can fit an A319 (although it is unclear whether the airline would still give a go for jetliners or not).
Instrument departures only available for Runway 12, while instrument approaches are only available for Runway 30. Although ILS has been installed for Runway 30, you are recommended not to use autoland if not necessary, as the glideslope is slightly more than 3 degrees, while Runway 30 is pretty sloped upward. The MAPt is at D2.6 from the DME of glideslope instead of the runway threshold.
You may also have interest to download the A320NEO for Buddha Air which is also made by me, although the actual livery is still unknown. It will be updated when it is unveiled.
If you are looking for the existing Pokhara Domestic Airport, you may have a look at the one made by EMBcreations.
The navdata and the scenery have been separated. Just delete the file "navdata-vnpr.bgl" if you have subscribed 3rd party global navdata from vendors like Navigraph. For the common "double runway" issues for those airports not built-in with the sim, please refer to the corresponding user forum for workarounds.

There may be BREAKING CHANGES in file structure for each update, PLEASE DELETE the old one from your community mod folder before installing the new version. Also, the package name has been changed to "kychungdotcom-airport-vnpr-pokhara" as the new airport will use a new ident "VNPR" instead of keeping the existing "VNPK"

But could you please give it the yellow star symbol for the world map? Otherwise it does not show as a mod airport and is easely missed.
Please give it the yellow star symbol. Thanks a lot!

Very Nice. Will the gates work with GSX pro automatically? or are you planning anything like that in the future ? Plus wish you made VNKT (Kathmandu Airport too) as you regularly update your creation. Thanks

I didn't purchased GSX Pro as I'm only a "low cost player", but I will be grateful if someone would like to create the GSX profile for this airport.

The instrument procedures for this airport are still not being published at the moment. They will be added into this addon as soon as possible once those procedures are published

Very nice Airport!
Only 1 question? Why change to VNPR? Official ICAO Code is still VNPK
1 years ago
According to the latest Nepal AIP amendment, the official ICAO ident of the new airport will be VNPR instead of taking VNPK. I guess the existing domestic airport may be kept and converted in some way rather than totally demolished, so the ident VNPK is reserved instead of being transferred to the new airport. There is an evidence for this guess, as there is a new VOR being constructed in the existing airport.

Nice design, many thanks!
Can you look into compatibility with Orbx Himalayas mesh bc it is surrounded by ground spikes now.

It seems that I can do nothing for this problem

Really nice model of the terminal, be great if just a bit of work could be done on ground markings, they seem a bit scarce atm
1 years ago
The ground markings could not be observed clearly from aerial images, and the docking charts are not released so I have no reference to draw the ground markings at this moment

Yet still use MODELIB.BGL which causes sim crash? A quick google search would show an array, infinite array, of topics about this.
The problem you mentioned is not that simple, we need to talk about how the virtual file system works. If the output path of modelLib.BGL is pointed to "scenery/global/scenery" or even just "scenery" for many early addons, there will be possibility of conflicts between different addons or even stock modules, because they share the same mount point and then they may overwrite each other when the sim is loading. However, for almost all of my addon airports after August, the output path of ALL the files have been put under "scenery/kychungdotcom/airport-(ICAO)-(Airport Name)", while the custom 3D objects have been put under "scenery/kychungdotcom/airport-(ICAO)-(Airport Name)/ModelLib", so the risk of VFS conflicts have been eliminated. If you experience CTDs, there should be other addons which put the modelLib.BGL into an improper output path, but not only the problem of the file name. 3D objects in the sim are called by GUID, but not the file name or path.

A handcrafted one will be made for the next version, when the aeronautical information for the new airport is released

thanks for the update. just curious as to why you removed the old domestic Pokhara airport?
As most details of the new airport has been confirmed (except IFR procedures and vertical profile of the runway), I personally think that it is the time to "decommission" the old one, as they won't co-exist IRL.
