    Description

    Hey guys and gals!
    Today's my birthday, but YOU will get the presents!

    Welcome to the New Zealand Southern Island Airfield Pack!

    New Zealand is a very scenic part of the world an represented quite well in MSFS.
    BUT there were quite a few airfields and airstrips missing, mostly private and agricultural airstrips.
    As many of them appear to be very scenic or challenging to fly at I decided to put some work into these and release them on flightsim.to.
    A full list of airfields is included to get the (fictional, as these strips don't have any real airport codes) ICAO codes to access them.

    Recommendations:
    Try to land at Quintin Lodge (thanks to Kev for that one!) with a TBM or the Baron, it's hard, but fun to try!
    Or hop from Marlborough to Croiselles in a xCub or Savage Carbon (the default Savage Cub won't make it to the top of the hill if you misjudge the landing space!)

    Haktaramea Pass, Haktaramea Valley and Malbourg airstrip file is missing.

    Great addon!
    I once had a scenic flight by helicopter from Makarora airstrip to a place in the Mt. Aspiring National Park called Siberia Valley. There is a small airstrip there. Flying along the rivers in this natioinal park is spectacular.

    Since the latest update the air strips are not showing on the ground. The windsock and other bits are there but no strip, just the usual ground cover. Any suggestions?

    Keep them coming for the South Island, maybe you can add some more cabins in the mix?

    I loaded and flew some of your airfields. However a number of them are no longer showing in the map. I tried re-loading them but still some are not appearing. Any thoughts.

    I stumbledupon this issue with a few packages over the time. On my system it helped to delete the file 'Content.xml' inside the ...\AppData\Local\Packages\Microsoft.FlightSimulator_8wekyb3d8bbwe\LocalCache folder. As Windows choses the location based on some factors the easiest way to find the fileis tolook for content.xml via the windows search engine. After deleting the file will be generated again and the scenery should be usable again. I found this issue to happen more likely if you change community content often with the MSFS addon linker and restart the sim often in a short time span.

    Several airstrips got the same fictive ICAO. why is that?

    The strips have fictional ICAO codes as most of them don't have any ICAO code assigned to them IRL so I had to find a pattern which works with MSFS while not colliding with any other ICAO codes.

    It is quite common and accepted to make up a fictional ICAO if no official are available. But it seems to me that the same fictional code have been used on more than one airfield. I can however make up some for my selv if to be able to locate all your airfields in msfs.

    Next will be 2 missng airfields in Jamaica which will be released today and after that the North Island of NZ will be populated.
    As soon as NZ is complete, I'll update my US West pack with some 3D models and when they're released I'll go on with Utah or Arizona (yet to decide).

    thanks heaps for these. I love bush VFR flying, and NZ is great for it. Any chance of adding lat/ long to the spreadsheet so I can plot them on my VNC and do some VFR trips?
