    EGPT Perth/Scone

    This is an upgrade of an existing airport.  The basic airfield layout has been mostly retained but many of the existing default buildings have been replaced with custom-made models,  other additional features have been added.

    Perth/Scone is a busy GA airfield situated some three miles north-east of the city of Perth, Scotland.  The airfield has two hard surfaced runways and a grass strip.

    The airfield is home to the Scottish Aero Club,  Alba Airsports and Scotland's Charity Air Ambulance.

    Unzip the airport file into your MSFS Community folder.

    Version 1.7

    Corrects untextured object.

    Corrects some elavation problems around Control Tower parking area.

    Adds some silage bales.

    Some other small additions

     

    Version 1.6

    Airfield and surrounds now in line with latest default map background.  further small detail has also been added.

     

    Version 1.5

    Reduces slope on apron fronting main airfield hangars.

    Re-texturing of grass runway and approaches to runway which dispenses with long grass.

    Signs added to control tower.

    Improved night lighting.

     

    Version 1.4

    This version is released mainly to add a 'start' to the SCA helipad

    There is also some buildings updates.

    Extra caravan models ( 40th Anniversary Edition required ) added to storage areas.

    Some floating cars brought down to earth.

    I have apron that is so steep planes rollback. Sure this was okay on earlier versions. Where fuel fill up is really steep. In real life the airfield is quite flat in the apron areas. How can this be corrected|?

    I am not seeing this problem in the latest version. Is your install up to date?

    It is very odd. I lorded latest version and it happened after this. Wonder if it is an Asobo issue?

    Would it be possible to change all the parking directions? Scone typically operate on West-East parking rather than North-South?

    Many thanks for the image. See the problem now. Another of my active airfields was actually texturing the object in my set-up.

    My local airfield so it is a frequent starting point for flights. Since the last flight sim update I notice there is now one very small building showing bright pink. Similar to the Schipol scenery after SU16.

    A great airport as always from Scotflight. Today, though, something strange has happened in the caravan parking area near the control tower. When I landed today on runway 21 I could see some strange large rectangular edifices ahead which on closer inspection turned out to be oversized trailers partly occupying the caravan parking. I don't recall seeing these on previous visits, but this may have been due to different runway choices. As you will see from the screenshot I am running the current stable release of MSFS 2020. Has this been reported by any other users or is it unique to my setup?

    If you have other Scotflight airfields installed do you have the latest versions? A similar problem was reported at Strathallan recently and a new update was uploaded. Could this be the answer?

    I have the most recent version of Strathallan which was uploaded after the oversized food van was reported. I am not sure, though, how this might affect the Scone Scenery - can you elaborate? In the meantime, though, I found that by creating a simple scenery in developer mode and an exclusion rectangle over the affected area with "Exclude Library Objects" selected , I could remove the huge trailers without affecting the parked caravans.

    Fantastic addition to the Scottish GA environment. There's still quite a slope up from the hangar/cafe. I was up there the other week getting my Class1 medical done and don't remember it being quite so steep! Great work though. (Just read your previous post about Bing maps so don't worry about the slope. Will help work off the Fatboy breakfast on the walk to the plane!
