This scenery is the first, full rendition and fully animated of the Skyway Mont Blanc.
The Skyway is a cable car that connects Courmayeur to Punta Hellbronner, via a middle station located at Pavillon du Mont Frety. After a full overhaul in 2015, it is now known as one of the 8th marvels of the World.
But the journey doesn’t stops there. The full ride literally fly over the Mont Blanc Glacier with the Panoramique du Glaciers gondola. Starting from Punta Hellbronner tourists and alpinist will have the opportunity to admire the Mont Blanc from a unique view, and after a 35 minutes ride will eventually arrive at the Aiguille du Midi, 3842 meter above sea level.
And the trip is not yet finished. Another cable car is waiting there to bring you down to Chamonix, via the middle station located at Plan de l’Aiguille
Since the project is made for a Flight Simulator, the Heliport “Elisuperficie Franco Garda”, (located in Entreves, Courmayeur) as been also created. If offers a base for Search and Rescue missions. You can find it by typing “Entreves” in the Msfs search box or with the fictional ICAO HSKYW
FEATURING:
- All the buildings / cable cars stations involved in the Skyway all round trip: Courmayeur station, Pavillon du Mont Frety station, Punta Hellbronner station, Aiguille du Midi station, Plan de l’Aiguille station and Chamonix station.
Where available, real world technical drawing has been used to match appearance and dimensions.
All the models are custom handmade creations, with full PBR texture
The Aiguille du Midi peak has been hand sculpted and covered with procedural texturing, to best fit all the buildings around the mountain.
- Fully animated cable cars and gondolas. The Skyway, Italian side, has a special animation, the cabin rotates 360° for a spectacular view of the surroundings
- As an alpinist myself, I can’t miss the opportunity to design the legendary new Torino hut (aka Rifugio Torino Nuovo) has it’s place right under Punta Hellbronner
- Night lighting in place (as per known light sources)
INSTALLATION:
Drag and drop the folder in Community and you are done.
The package works perfectly with my Project Lifts scenery, but should be installed AFTER that. You can control scenery order by editing the Content.xml file
IMPORTANT NOTE:
Due to the mountainous terrain, lot of terraforming has been required to shape the location of the various lifts stations. The terraforming as been developed to work best with the default mesh, 3d party mesh will lead to missing terrain or terrain intruding inside some of the buildings.
LAST MINUTE FIX!
I forgot to add the exclusion polygons for hellbronner and pavillon, here you can download the fix (it is not needed if you have already installed my projectLifts scenery)
Will update this as upgrade as soon as SU6 will be released (in order to double check compatibility)
Please apologize me!

This is a fantastic addition. Congrats and thank you!
As others I really hope you can find a way to make the cars navigable some day, maybe there is some trick with the cameras or something that can be done to hop into a car and enjoy the ride.

Thank you for a great work and scenery. although I have Dave's 3D people Library I can not see any peoples inside the moving cable cars but I can see the mountaineer's at the top of Mont Blanc. it would be great and much appreciated if with your great skills you try to do similar moving cable cars between the Matterhorn Mountain and Cervinia at one side and Zermat on the other side.
Santis mountain cable cars scenery in Northern Switzerland, show the people inside the cable cars OK.
I have made a You Tube video of my helicopter flight there.

Hi heliflyer, thanks for your comment!. I have not placed people in my sceneries.
I have a Plan to do that in the future, but i'm waiting for Asobo's blender2msfs exporter in order to make animated characters
About Cervinia to Zermatt animated lifts, could be done, not in the near future, by now i'm fully commited in global sceneries and other stuffs!

This is an outstanding work and scenery ! I use to ski in the Pyrenees at Peyragudes and I have seen that the lifts are there (and in most of the Pyrenees sky places). And the new lift from Lac de loudenvielle to Peyragudes is already there! I just have a question (a stupid one) - will the lifts "move" (in winter of course) or will they stay statics? Thank you again !

Many thanks for your appreciation!
probably your comment was meant to be for my projectLifts :P
Yeah, pretty much every lift mapped has been inserted in the project! this is the comprehensive map
http://projectlifts.altervista.org/released.html
UInfortunatly, i don't plan to make them moving, for two main reasons:
making them moving/appearing only during certain conditions (season/time of the day etc) requires using for every cabin/chair a so called simboject, and msfs doesn't like them too much (we are talking about using hundreds ot them at the same time)
Also, hundreds of moving object in a little space are going to be very heavy on CPU, and frame rate will suffer
I can try to make movement for the cable cars (since only 2 moving object are involved), but i don't want to make them manually (there are nearly 1000 of them in the project) but find a way to automate the process, and some more docs about this kind of automation is needed from Asobo, will see!

A fabulously done addon. This is really superb and deserves to be looked at. What a great idea! Thanks for doing it. I have discovered some minor discrepancies at the middle and top station - I am sending pics to you separately.

Thank you for your kind words!
As per your findings, the scenery is built to work in "online mode", with a good terrain mesh quality (i built that at with the slider at 100)
(I can of course made a version with the stations buildings snapped to ground, but this will not have cables and cabins)

This looks great but can anyone tell me how I enter and stay in the car/lifts? I am probably missing something - do I use showcase camera and float into it or something? much appreciated in advance

There Is actually no way to stay inside the cabin, to make the screenshots i used the drone camera and freeze the Simulation with Dev mode (options/pause simulation)
The only way i could think One can stay inside a moving object Is Modelling It as an "airplane"
Can be an idea , with controls and such 😅

The best detailed scenery out there today. I did notice that the what seems like a heliport at the top, is not really land able. I made a video, to highlight all the little extra's and fine workmanship, that makes your scenery great. https://youtu.be/cPmDm2lyw90

Thanks for you appreciation and the great video!
The platform above Hellbronner Is Just a Panoramic terrace 😅, where one can climb and have a wonderful view of the Mont Blanc (didn't model the stairs, my bad)
I knew that someone world have tried to land, and It should be landable, but It was really a last minute addition and didn't check the functionality (the landable platform Is a cube inscribed into the circle, and It It fits, It Is a really tight one 😉)

This is without a doubt my most favorite scenery addon in MSFS. I had no idea these places existed, so getting to fly around them in the sim then go look up real photos and videos has literally changed my life. Now I must go there before I die.
I uploaded an image feel free to use it. Thank you for everything.

Thanks soo much!
I think that you comment is the reason why the Msfs team is trying to recreate our Earth, to let know how wonderful it is, and why we must do anything to preserve it!
Of course, the Alps is a fantastic area, and the (real) skyway experience deserves a visit, is a place rich in hystory and technology. engineering and craftmanship!

Outstanding achievement. An entertaining change of pace from the typical freeware offerings and very creative. Thanks for your efforts and sharing this with us. I, too, have added this trip to my bucket list.

Thanks so much for your kind comment! Has been a pleasure to do, and also very informative. I learned a lot of stuff about the construction of the real thing , and the Epic effort all the real workers did to build this Marvel!

You mean the Panoramique/Funivia dei Ghiacciai? It Is a wonderful engineering Marvel,.It was built in the 1950's and Is still there, altought the strong Winds are able to scroll It like in a blender! It has a special "Flying" pylon (recteated in the scenery) because the great distance the Little gongolas to travel over the glaciers!
It you want to do the full trip, take your time to visit the Museums at Hellbronner and Pavillon, entrance Is free (well, you already pay the lifts)
