Description
Six Flags Over Texas is a 212-acre theme park located in Arlington, Texas, east of Fort Worth and west of Dallas in Arlington's entertainment district, near stadiums for the Dallas Cowboys and Texas Rangers sports teams. It is the first amusement park in the Six Flags chain, opened in 1961. Among other superlatives and records, the park contains the tallest and fastest roller coasters (and the tallest amusement ride overall) in the state of Texas, the first of Rocky Mountain Construction's recent retrofits of wooden roller coasters, and the first mine train and log flume rides.
Features
- Full recreation of Six Flags Over Texas amusement park. All large rides and coasters, and many large buildings, are fully hand modeled/textured based on a variety of references; the remainder of building models are derived from Google photogrammetry, with some cleanup and color correction.
- Parkwide night lighting enhancements, with custom night lighting for many rides/coasters. Accurate aircraft warning beacons on the taller rides, as applicable.
- LOD models implemented for some of the more complex models.
- Terraforming, retouched vegetation, and night lights. This package now includes some further cleanup of photogrammetry trees along Ballpark Way, as far south as Johnson Creek.
- New in Update 1.2 Tweaked placement of most objects and polys (shifted due to the new photogrammetry in WU11); removed photogrammetry artifacts around park, as well as along Ballpark Way; recompiled package using most recent SDK release.
NOTE: the new Texas Rangers ballpark visible in the background of some of my screenshots is my own work, available here on flightsim.to. The older Rangers ballpark also visible in some shots is by FreakyD.
Installation
- Download the ZIP file and extract the "whitearcades-sixflagsovertexas" folder to your Community folder:
For the Microsoft Store version: C:\Users\[Username]\AppData\Local\Packages\Microsoft.FlightSimulator_\LocalCache\Packages\Community
For the Steam version: C:\Users\[Username]\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft Flight Simulator\Packages\Community
Make sure to remove any previous versions of this package before copying the new one in.

Thanks so much for this! Between Six Flags and the Texas Rangers, I have so many fond memories of visiting Arlington when I lived in the Metroplex. A cool idea would be to do an "80's pack" that includes Wet & Wild and the original Arlington Stadium where the Rangers played from 1972-93.

And you have suppressed this stupid mushroom effects due to badly cutted out buildings. No mushrrom trees ! A mix of 3D buildings and handmade objects : very good done.
