Robin DR400 Improvement Mod – REALSIM Edition
This mod transforms the default Asobo DR400 into a true-to-life trainer aircraft, using real-world flight manuals, POH data, and manufacturer specifications. Every change was based on official documentation and pilot feedbacks, to ensure maximum realism in MSFS
Key Improvements:
Flight Model Reworked
- Lift, drag, stability, and stall behavior tuned from the real DR400 Pilot’s Operating Handbook.
- Correct stall speeds: 46 kt (flaps down), 51 kt (clean).
- Proper V-speeds arcs on the ASI: green (51–140 kt), white (46–92 kt), yellow (140–166 kt), red line (166 kt).
Engines & Performance
- Lycoming O-360 power curve rebuilt from real dyno charts.
- Correct RPM, fuel flow, climb rates, and cruise speeds.
- Takeoff & climb performance aligned with POH charts → perfect for real training.
Cockpit & Systems
- Airspeed indicator arcs corrected with POH data.
- Fuel, oil, and electrical parameters matched to real tolerances.
- More accurate control feel (trim, rudder, ailerons) for flight school practice.
Target Performance
→ Glide ratios, climb rates, endurance, and range calculated directly from the real aircraft manual.
→ Perfect to simulate real-world training exercises.
✅ Built on REALSIM, evidence-based modding: no guesswork, only real-world data
✅ Every number matches the real POH
✅ Ideal for IVAO/VATSIM or other student pilots and flight schools using MSFS as a training supplement

✈️ DR400 Realism Mod – Major Update (Realistic Checklists) This update comes directly from the community’s strong demand: many pilots asked for more advanced checklists, especially for training purposes. 👉 We listened — and spent a lot of time rebuilding the checklists from scratch, comparing multiple real-world sources (official POHs, flying club procedures, instructor checklists). The result is a fully detailed, realistic checklist set that goes far beyond the simplified default version. 🔹 What’s new All missing steps added (documents, walkaround, fuel drains, oil check, doors/windows, etc.). Correct real-world speeds (rotation 100 km/h, initial climb 130 km/h, cruise, approach, final). Proper fuel pump logic (ON only for takeoff and landing). Full magneto and carb heat checks during run-up. Accurate shutdown and securing procedures. These checklists are now true-to-life and highly valuable for training in both MSFS 2020 and MSFS 2024. 📥 Installation Installation is simple and clean: Download the full ZIP package. Extract the entire folder into your Community directory. When Windows asks if you want to replace the existing version → click Yes. 👉 Installing the full package ensures you always have the complete and up-to-date Mod in your Community folder — no leftover files, no duplicates. 💬 Final words We’ve worked hard on this update because you, the community, asked for it. Thank you for pushing us to make the DR400 checklists as realistic and training-friendly as possible!

Some suggestions for the checklists:
* Ensure that the anti collision light is on before starting the engine.
* Monitor oil pressure after engine start up, should rise to the green band within ~30s after startup.
* Reduce to about 1200 rpm after engine start
* Could test the fuel pump before engine start (there is a fuel pressure indicator; so it can be checked); but the pump should indeed be off before engine start.
* In a real DR400 you typically prime the engine by pumping the throttle before engine start, this obviously isn't modeled in MSFS2024. I feel the checklist would be truer to life with such an entry though.
* During taxi you typically verify that flight instruments are working: compass decreasing, DG decreasing, needle to left/ball to the right on the turn/bank indicator.
* During engine run up, you typically also check vacuum pressure (drives the AI and DG) and compass deviation when you throttle back to idle.
* Initial climb speed is 55 kts, while I don't fly the Cadet; this seems very low. I'd expect at least 60kts.
* The neutral trim feels way off, a trim setting of ~9 feels like neutral. This didn't change from the default plane though.
* There are no left-turning tendencies during takeoff roll. This didn't change from the default plane though..
