    Description

    Here is a quick mod I did to some of the lights on the amazing FBW A380!

    Here is what I did:
    -Added a texture to the .fx file to show the beacon light orbs.
    -Modified the Strobe light orbs.
    -Adjusted strobe light timing.
    -Fixed the top of the wing beacon light to now reflect off the wingtips and outer portion the the wing.
    -Adjusted ground splash intensities and angles.
    -Adjusted the size of all light orbs.


    Turn Bloom ON in sim for best results!

    Installation:
    Simply drag and drop into your community folder!

     

    Please ONLY use this mod on the Stable Version and NOT the Development version as the dev version is constantly updated and the mod may cause issues and break your aircraft!


    BEWARE! 
    Whenever the core aircraft gets an update this mod MIGHT break your aircraft! If core files get updated I will need to make the necessary changes in my mod for it to be compatible so PLEASE do not reach out to support devs and ask why your airplane is broken, remove the mod first and try again. I typically have updates out quickly. Thanks for your support!

    I'm confused. This was MSFS2020 only addon right? I downloaded and used it. Now the same addon becomes MSFS2024 addon only. Why you did not offer download for both versions? Or make this addon as whole new addon? Because flightsim.to now tells me there is an update, but its not for me, because MSFS2020 turned into MSFS2024 addon only. Thats weird logic.

    Yeah sorry, every mod I do from here on out will be only for 2024. I ditched 2020 months ago.

    Needs updating, breaks the engine start up on the latest development version. Taking it out allows the engines to start again

    Hmm, that is strange. That is not happening on my end. Make sure you have Bloom turned ON in the sim and lmk.

    I have found out the problem, this is either something to do with the livery creator or a mod you installed that lowers the texture resolution, what I found out is that the NORM textures ( normal ) texture (texture that affects flat surfaces to make them look 3d) when not saved in the correct compression type, can cause them to do weird things to lights and even the sim lighting can effect how the winglet/surface looks like if not saved in that correct compression type. Some surfaces can have a weird looking reflection because of it. and because of that can also affect the lighting. ( with or without this lighting mod ) So therefore this issue is not related to modeling or lighting mod, but the NORM texture not being saved correctly. I have just had to fix a livery with this issue. Hope this helps understand what is causing it.
