my last comment was in regards to kgyi. in regards to sherman manu, it has a master planned airport community home development that will be on the west side of the runway. I know the builder of that one and can also get you plans and designs for that one aswell should you want to update

This airport is 5 min behind my backyard lol LOVE IT also if you would like i just won the bid for the additional hangers and commercial warehouses that we will break ground on late 2024. I can help you obtain the details to help you update this mod when we break ground.

This brings back lots of memories in more than one way. Just like pelican223, my father, Captain C.C. Ford was stationed at Perrin AFB on two separate occasions, the first stop in 1962 and his 2nd time was 1965 - 1968. My dad flew the TF-102, F-102, and T-33 while stationed at Perrin! I suppose there's a possibility that my dad and T/Sgt McCormick might have known each other! My younger sister and my younger brother were both born at the base hospital there at Perrin! It's a small world.

Thank you. My Father T/Sgt C.E. McCormick was stationed at Perrin AFB (KGYI) from 1958 to 1965. After I graduated from High School in KCK, I went to stay with my Father and attended the Civil Air Patrol Jet Orientation Course (JOC) flying the Lockheed T-33 for 4 hours. I also attended the first class when Grayson County Junior Collage opened near the front gate. Another highlight was taxiing the TF-102 on the ramp at night. I was 17. The next year I drove my TR-3 B to Alaska, fought forest fires, and later worked for Vinnell Corporation at POW-Main, Point Barrow. You bring back memories! Please consider restoring the Air Base.
