    EG78 Out Skerries

    This is an upgrade to the Asobo bespoke version of this airstrip.  Unfortunately the Asobo version has populated the islands of Out Skerries with many buildings that are not representative of what is actually there.  So the primary purpose of this upgrade is to replace as many buildings as possible across the islands with custom built models or appropriate replacements.  The package also adds some life about the airstrip with animated humans and livestock.

    Version 1.2

    This version re-positions all added scenery to match the default background map.

    More custom-made models have been added to replace the default buildings.

    A few moving boats have been added in the local waters.

     

    Version 1.1

    This version adds runway sidelights ( only three per side ) along with runway endlights.

    One parking spot has been added.

    More detailed signage at airstrip entrance gate.

    More custom built models added to harbour area and to the area around the school.

     

    Version1 concentrates on the island of Bruray where the airstrip is situated.  Extra detail has been added to the harbour area as well as around the airstrip.

    The airstrip has a 366m long gravel runway and there are scheduled services to the islands from Tingwall Airport on Mainland Shetland.

    Thanks for the scenery! It's a GREAT improvement over the default! Can you only please fix the jagged lines on the asphalt edge of the runway? The default looks pretty straight. Thanks!

    Hi, very nice scenery but with one unvisible object at the water side end of the runway. This spot pressed the back of my plane to the ground like someone is sitting on my tail (pls see picture attached).Although it's not for 2024, it seems to work nearly, only some cars are in the air and the runway at land's site end is not correct. Hopefully you do the airfield in 2024, it's a nice landing challenge.

    As you acknowledge this scenery is only fully compatible with MSFS 2020. The problem you highlight when used in MSFS 2024 has been reported before and investigations in conjunction with the user, who reported, found that the problem was also present when using the default version of the airfield. My 2020 version does not make any changes to the default runway setup.

    Absolutely stunning and a real challenge to land at. However there appears to be an invisible object at the start of runway 27 that my Comanche gets caught up in. Almost like an invisible wall. Sometimes I can get a pushback away from it and sometimes I cant. Just have to remind myself not to go all way to end of runway.

    Breathtaking. Just landed here with the Comanche and I'm speechless. Definitely my favourite airport in the sim, can't wait to go back on my next flight.
    You did an impressive job, I've never seen anything like this!
