    Description

    Minor update v1.1a - Fixes a terraforming error creating a slope on the GA ramp. Tweak to a grass texture.

    I am marking this as compatible with 2024. I have been using it on 2024 and not seeing any issues. If you see something not working, please let me know. Thank you!

    UPDATE Version 1.1 - Adds custom models for the Aircraft Rescue and Fire Fighting building by the GA Ramp and the last 2 hangars by the cargo/FedEx ramp. 

    Widespread Improvments to the Nantucket Memorial Airport on Nantucket Island, Massachusetts.

    This mod includes custom models for Terminal, FBO, Hangars, and more. (Additional buildings are still being worked on).

    Custom surface markings and accurate runway and taxiway layout as of March 2023. (Taxiway F and the Non-Movement area has recently changed and Runway 12/30 is now an extension of Taxiway C)

    For fans of the Wings sitcom from the 80s, if you own the Flysimware Chancellor 414 and have our Sanpiper Air livery (https://flightsim.to/file/36921/sandpiper-air-livery-cessna-414-chancellor), 121PP is parked by the terminal.

    If you have the FedEx Feeder livery for the Grand Caravan, a static FedEx aircraft appears over by the FedEx hangar. (https://flightsim.to/file/5478/fedex-feeder-cessna-208b-grand-caravan-ex-livery)

    There may also be a few assets (lights, antenna buildings) that came from World Updates. I tried to avoid that, but it's possible.

    NOTE: I am aware that sometimes the light for the rotating becon appears above the beacon itself. The issue seems inconsistent, and typically only on first load. The inconsistency indicates it's an issue with how the sim is rendering the light, and I probably don't have much control over it. I will keep poking at it though.

    I expect to continue adding to this project over time, so check back occassionally for additional custom buildings (the ARFF and more hangars, etc.)!

    Just have to stop by and say how much I appreciate your Nantucket airport. So much so that I prefer and use it instead of the payware option that I also have. Could be some more buildings need a custom look and paint but overall superb effort!

    Yeah - there are a couple of hangars and the radar building that I'd like to add, but I don't have good imagery of either.

    This says it is incompatible with 2024, but I only fly 2024. I assume it won't work?

    There are some ground texture issues in/with a couple of patches of the grass. I haven't figured out what the fix is yet. Probably just replacing the texture with a 2024 built-in one.

    I was assigned the Great Point Visual RWY 24 approach to KACK. You have to report the Great Point lighthouse in sight at the end of the Galls spit on the NE corner of the island. This whole area for me has the “flattened” texture of an area with no 3D modeling. The lighthouse isn’t there. Has anyone else experienced this and , if so, can you add the lighthouse? Maybe I’m missing some crucial library.

    Despite not being updated for 2024 in any way, it does appear to work perfectly fine in 2024. Very cute little airport with a lot of nice details, I see this becoming my choice pick for GA flights.

    Thank you! Yeah - I was pleased to see that it loaded OK in 2024. That's not true of all of my mods, unfortunately. I like for some of the first ones I did, I need to re-do the LODs. This one and the modelling I did on the RHP Burlington VT (also here on FS.TO) seem to be good. but they both had a fair bit of LOD work done.

    I am getting 3 files with a "Path too long" error message when installing the scenery... My community folder is in the normal default path in the C drive. For instance, one of these files is: "LORES-KACK-TERMINAL-EAST-WING_EAST BUILDING TEXTURE_COMP.PNG.DDS.json". Any chance to reduces the title size? Thanks.

    There are many mods that will trigger this issue. I can look at reducing file length in the future, but the path for MS is already so super long that mine won't be the only issue you run across.     Nice to hear you intend to improve it even further. Suggestion for improvements include things to make you feel the airport is alive, small things like clutter, flowers, bushes, airport equipment and more custom airport buildings. Some of them buildings seem to be a bit generic. Also clutter further away would be nice so you feel the custom environment even beyond the emediate terminal platform.
