2024, Sim update 4, Missing objects.
Due to the removal of 2020 assets, there are two hangars currently missing. This is because Asobo replaced one with a generic hangar; the other was remodelled and needs replacing in an update to this package.
20/11/2025: Updated for 2024 compatibility. Lots of tweaking and adjustments have been made to ensure compatibility with MSFS2024.
I have reworked many aspects, including improved terraforming of the pondage dam wall, to better reflect its height and profile. While semi-fictional, I have reinstated the YMBT sign on the Runway; this was a feature of the old runway that is yet to return to the new runway in real life. Helicopter parking spots have been added, since they are a new feature of 2024.
The world update Australia version of YMBT, which is now in MSFS2024, has received some tweaks by the developers, but remains quite unrealistic and the runway has not been extended. There are inaccuracies in some of the new models that have been added. I have done my best to mix and match with the old 2020 assets that remain available through Dev Mode.
Damms Road Private Airtrip has received the necessary adjustments to ensure it displays as intended.
Mount Emu and Tawonga Gap Para gliding and hang gliding sites have also been modified to work with 2024. The Hang gliders for 2020 are yet to come over to 2024, but the developer is hard at work on them.
I highly recommend Season Enhanced by Bijan Hibashi. A recent update removed the unrealistic conifer/pine trees from the high plains.
21/11/2025: 2020 compatibility:
I was recently made aware of a compatibility issue with the 2020 version of the Enhancement Package.
Due to a satellite imagery adjustment by the developers of MSFS 2020 and a subsequent update to the World Update Australia version of Mount Beauty Airport, placement of 3D objects has changed slightly. A quick fix can remove the fence from the runway, but realigning everything else will take a fair effort. For the best results, I need to make quite a few adjustments before I can release an update.
I have a backup of v1.0.1 (the previous version of the airport) that can be provided as a quick fix. If you are impacted by this compatibility issue, feel free to get in touch.
9/12/2024, a word on 2024: Mount Beauty airport has some significant issues in MSFS2024. The World Update Australia version (which this enhancement was based on) clashes with a 2024 version of the airport that has tried to depict the updated runway but hasn't... I am capable of sorting this all out, however it's a matter of choosing the WU Aus version or the 2024 version. Strangely there is a difference in the modeling of custom objects. I will wait until add-ons can be enabled/disabled before progressing with a 2024 version.

On the 20th of January 2023, the new 1500m x 18m runway at Mount Beauty Airfield (YMBT) was officially finished and opened to aircraft. The new Runway exceeds the previous length (910m L x 10m W) by 590 meters, allowing larger aircraft to land and take off.
This scenery REQUIRES World Update Australia and the included Microsoft YMBT Mount Beauty Airport scenery to be installed. I consider this package to be an enhancement to the Microsoft release of the Airfield... While the runways, taxiways, and parking are overridden, many elements rely on the Microsoft package being installed.
In addition to the new Runway, I have added additional taxiways/pavement and parking spots, a helicopter start point, as well as adjusted the placement and size of some of the Microsoft custom buildings. Additional clutter has been added as well as gliders, glider trailers additional gable markings and some vegetation. I have also adjusted the position of the Glider tow at the end of the runway.
Many exclusions have been created to allow the replacement of buildings and objects as well as removing the fence from where the shorter runway used to finish
To the North of the airfield, located on Damms Road is a small private airstrip. I have named this Damms Road Airstrip (YMBTP) and added a runway, parking spots, hangar as well as clutter to the airstrip.
These two airfields are supplied as separate packages, so one, the other or both can be installed.
This project now includes Mount Emu and Tawonga Gap gliding sites (YMBEU & YMBTG) as well as the relevant Landing Zones for each site as POI's
These are also supplied as separate packages that can be installed alongside YMBT and YMBTP, it's up to you!

2024 Compatibility! Helicopter Parking Lots of improved teraforming thanks to improvements in 2024. Pondage dam wall has a more accurate profile now. Semi-Fictional: Reinstated the "YMBT " letters painted on the runway, it is yet to reappear in real life; however existed on the old runway. The fence has been present for a number of months but I don't believe it coincided with your last update for FS2020.
I have attached a few screenshots so you can see where the fence crosses the strip.

I have been using your version of Mount Beauty in FS2020 as my default gliding strip since you released it. I have the latest version and associated/required addons installed.
In my sim, the boundary fence crosses the strip about a third of the way from the western end. I am able to aero tow over the top of it, however, a collision is detected when landing.
Have you, or anyone else, encountered this fence line issue? Conflict with other addons? Any suggestions to fix it would be appreciated.

I haven't been in 2020 much recently. Has this only begun to occur recently?
I believe there was a change to the satellite imagery and a subsequent update released to the Sim Update Australia version of YMBT, to realign 3D object placement to the imagery.
I have avoided applying this update to my sim (because I'm mostly in 2024); however, I can imagine that for those who updated, there could be some compatibility issues with my enhancement package.
If this is the case, once I update my 2020 version of YMBT, there will be no going back, and I will have to realign many components of my enhancement package.
If you send through some screenshots of the exact area that is causing trouble, I could create a temporary fix before I take on the task of realigning everything.

The addition of the hand gliders really adds some interest and need to keep a lookout on take-off and approach.
Love this airfield, I have stayed at Mt Beauty years ago so nice to have this to visit!

Sorry to hear that you are having an issue with a ditch! Do you have World Update Australia and the included Microsoft/Asobo scenery add-on of YMBT installed?
If so, that's good.
Another thing: Check your community folder for a scenery package simply named "ymbt" It is by another Dev and may be conflicting.
Also, ensure that my previous version of this package is removed from your community folder.
Alternatively, try removing my scenery packages from your community folder and re-adding them again.
Please update me on how you go!

I have spent quite a bit of time in the area myself, so it's close to my heart.
For almost as long as I have been using Flight Simulators and been aware of YMBT, I had hoped and dreamt of someone creating a detailed scenery to bring some realism and life to what I think is one of Australia's most scenic Airfields! I almost couldn't believe it when it was released as part of the Australia Update...
Really the addition of Mount Emu and Tawonga Gap Gliding sites wouldn't have been possible without the skill and hard work of The Hang Gliding Files bringing Hang Gliding to the sim. Without them, the best I would have done for Mount Emu was a Helipad...
It's now a scenery enhancement that has a little something for almost everyone.

Firstly love the scenery. Exceptional quality.
When I installed the scenery a few weeks back I didnt notice any changes. As I dont fly airliners that often, I didnt notice the ground crews, catering, power, fuel, and baggage facilities are not there anymore. I see this has already been raised, and as I am using the most current version, I can confirm the issue is still there ...for me anyway.
I am still going through the balance of my addons, but at this point I have narrowed it down to these two.
I thought I would be worth mentioning, and I would be interested if you can replicate the issue, or if anyone else has the problem after your vesion update.

Hi Craig, sorry about the delay. At this stage I have checked the latest version: 0.9.4 again and ground services are present at YMBT, YMBTP and further afield. The latest version doesn't have any form of Service file (as I am yet to master it without it having negative and broad ranging side effects).
I can only sugest that you try removing my file/s from you community folder and restarting the sim, checking, closing the sim and then re-adding it to the community folder. I have had a few suspect add-ons myself only to find the install to have been somehow buggy...
