    Description

    Basel, Bâle, Basilea or Basle is a city in northwestern Switzerland on the river Rhine. Basel is Switzerland's third-most-populous city (after Zürich and Geneva) with about 180,000 inhabitants.The official language of Basel is (the Swiss variety of Standard) German, but the main spoken language is the local Basel German dialect.

    Please not thtat this scenery was importer from Google Maps.

    Installation:
    Simply drag and drop all folders into your community folder.

    Don't hesitate to contact me if you're having any issues with the scenery or the installation.

    If you experience any problems with the FPS you can try delete the scenery called «Downtown» and «Aeschenregion». Although you don't have those parts anymore MSFS should handle it better.

    a great work but I did not find out how it works with the MSFS Switzerland update where Basel is included ?
    Did you try the new optimization tools for blender ?

    I'm sorry to have to say it but since the update with Germany, Austria and Switzerland this scenery is not worth it. I have a drop of 10 to 20 fps for no real added value

    Vilen Dank für die tolle Arbeit. Die FPS gehen bei mir ganz schön in den Keller. Trotzdem viel Freude an der tollen Szenerie gehabt.

    Hello Ogeidini. Have you made any progress with optimization (LOD, FPS)? I would be really happy if I could use the whole addon again.

    The TV Tower St. Chrischona would be a great additional landmark. It would probably not have a major additional negative impact on the FPS ...

    Sadly I have not made any progress so far. Really sad actually. I'm still searching for someone thta can help me with the LOD's and optimisation. Sorry for the bad news. :(

    Hey Guys!

    I just wanted to let y’all know that i'm still figuring out how to load up diffrent LOD (Level of detail). That really would help the FPS to become better.

    So if anyone of you is experienced with the program "Blender" or creating MSFS-Sceneries in general I would appreciate it if you could help me.

    Hi ogeidini, great scenery. Thank you very much for this brillant work. My computer (i7 4790k, gtx 1080ti) performs quite well and I get about 45-50fps. I fly regularly VFR as private pilot from LFSB and LFGB and very much appreciate it for training in winter.

    Could you pls tell me what software/programme you used? I would also like to try myseld in scenery creation :-) Thank you very much. Best regards, Chris

    Thanks for the review. I'm actually surprised that your computer can handle the scenery quite good with a stable fps.

    Thanks for the review! Yes i'm also experiencing the same problem with FPS. I thought if i load diffrent Level Of Detail's in this scenery. For some smaller areas like the Roche Tower or the Lonza Tower this works perfectly and I can load up to 3 Level Of Detail's. But in the bigger areas like the Downtown part or the Messe Area my Blender just can’t load the 3 diffrent layers. It just endless loads (once I waited for about 4 hours abd still hasn’t loaded).

    So if anybody of you has some experience with Blender and adding Level Of Detail to a Scenery I would be very pleased if someone could help me.

    I agree: very nice. Finally it looks really like Basel! The performance hit is really rather large, though. It seems particularly bad around the Messeplatz. I think the level of detail in the models is just too high. It's obvious when loading that there is LOADS of stuff there. More than NYC, I reckon. If you can dial down the model sizes things might work better.

    Suggestion:
    Name the folders something like "CH_Basel_xxxx" so they're easy to work with when they get copied into the Community folder.
