RKSO - Osan Air Base - Image 1

    Description

Osan Air Base (IATA: OSN, ICAO: RKSO) (K-55; Korean: 오산공군기지; Hanja: 烏山空軍基地), is a United States Air Force (USAF) base located near Songtan Station in the city of Pyeongtaek, South Korea, 64 km (40 mi) south of Seoul. Despite its name, Osan AB is not within Osan City, which is 7.5 km (4.7 mi) to the north. The base is the home of the headquarters for Seventh Air Force, Pacific Air Forces' 51st Fighter Wing, and a number of tenant units. The base is also the headquarters of the Republic of Korea Air Force (ROKAF) Operations Command. Osan Air Base is also the departure and arrival point for U.S. government-contracted "Patriot Express" flights bringing service members and their family members to South Korea from Seattle-Tacoma International Airport in the U.S. state of Washington, Misawa Air Base and Yokota Air Base in Japan. Known Issues (Please be cool)

    Havent tested ILS.

HESCO Barriers disappear! Working on a fix. Its a bit annoying (I know) so please bear with me.

Noticed I covered some road in between runways.

Will add F16 models when I have one working. For now you get the A10 with blank tails. Will work on updating those in time.

    Details

Second runway added and both are to the correct specifications.

Some taxiways that were missing from the bing imagery (cause they appear new).

Custom hangars are used but for the buildings I just used MSFS base buildings (mainly from the KNFL and MCAS Miramar).

Please follow the parking map so you do not load into a haz hangar in a C17!

Cessnas in the pic are from the UK2000 Common Library (Free in the Marketplace)

A lot of time and money goes into scenery. Though not required, any donations or a note of thanks is greatly appreciated. I take comments very seriously, so if you see anything that can be improved or fixes needed, please leave a comment!

The best quality among RKSO sceneries

    Looks really good!
Cannot wait for your updates! Thanks!

Does this have dependencies? It seems very detailed for only a 71MB scene.

All should be built in. You may need uk2000 lib from the marketplace but not a requirement. Note it’s 71mb zipped so the folder size will be bigger when unzipped.

Thanks I just got it and it looks fantastic!

Thank you for your work! ILS works fine. However, DME distance is not displayed on PMDG 737 can you update this part?

And GSX doesn't recognize for RKSO

Unsure about GSX (I dont use it). Ill have to look at DME but that should be the default setting as I didnt touch that part.

Thanks for a nice air base.

It's nice to see a B747 cargo land when I fly around Osan.

Unfortunately, the FSLTL's Traffic disappears as soon as the aircraft lands in the absence of a Ground Taxiway.

If possible, I think it would be good to make a Taxiway and let the landed Traffic move on the ground.

There are many cargo flying for U.S. Air bases such as Kunsan, Osan. so it would be good if that was reflected.

I appreciate the feedback! I havent spent much time creating taxiways for AI/Injected aircraft as there isnt mil AI in the sim rn. Ill certainly look into it though as I dont us FSLTL so that is good to know!

i made the same airport but i'll say that you've done a really good job, i didn't have enough time to add much details to the airport but now i'm working to improve it, and i'm jealous because you made it better than mine..

I really appreciate the comments! I was unaware of there being one in the works until I published mine (was requested personally by a friend). What you have looks great so far!

Something I lack is making buildings so if you ever want to collaborate on this I would love to partner with you!
