    Description

Update removes all the default buildings covering the shelters since the sim update

Columbus Air Force Base (AFB) was established in 1941, after the US War Department authorized a pilot training base in Columbus, Mississippi. It was originally named Kaye Field, after World War I flying ace Samuel Kaye Jr., but confusion with nearby Key Field in Meridian, Mississippi led to it being renamed as Columbus Army Flying School. The base was deactivated after the end of World War II, but was reactivated four years later with the beginning of the Korean War.

In 1955, Columbus AFB was transferred to Strategic Air Command (SAC) and was occupied by the 4228th Strategic Wing, which later became the 454th Bombardment Wing. In 1969, Columbus AFB was transferred back to Air Training Command, and was occupied by the 3650th Pilot Training Wing, which became the 14th Flying Training Wing in 1972.

I have used a white Lear jet in place of the T-1A Jayhawk until i find a suitable model, I have a Texan model coming shortly.

nothing you did, the latest sim update added default buildings in where there was nothing before so when i placed buildings i didn't need to remove any first, i am working through each scenery in my list which is quite long, but i will hopefully get all of them sorted by the end of next week. it is a simple fix so look out for an update in the coming days

Nice work Nick, the airfield looks awesome!
May I request an option though to remove all statics so as to be able to replace them with AI?

    Nick,
Not sure if you know about Military AI Works folks. They started out building scenery and aircraft for FS9. They have converted some of their scenery and aircraft to FSX. They even started to convert their F-35 project to MSFS, but ran into a glitch with one of the MSFS updates from Asobo. Anyway, they have an FSX conversion for a T-1A Jayhawk. Their downloads are freeware to individuals, but the individuals are not allowed to re-distribute their work. One of the MSFS scenery builders used MAIW FSX converted aircraft for his scenery, and they looked great. He told folks that in order for those aircraft to show up in his scenery, they had to download the converted aircraft from MAIW and install it into MSFS Community folder. I'm just trying to help.

Is there anyway to remove all of the small shrubs and trees anywhere near the runways,

my son is in training at Columbus AFB now and there are absolutely zero trees or shrubs.

Ground hazard in case something gets ugly. Google maps shows what looks like some small green areas that might be considered something taller than grass but but I can confirm, only grass is around the runways. Great upload thanks for your hard work! Texan would be nice but a T-38 would be Dreamy!
