    Description

    "1c5" , Clow Airport, is in Bolingbrook, Illinois, which is a western suburb of Chicago. It also houses a small restaurant called 'Charlie's with an outdoor patio , and an 'Illinois Aviation Museum" and a flight school. Just next to this small airport's parking lot is a small mini-golf course, which i recreated also . This airport is surrounded by industrial warehouses and some commercial lots such as Lowe's and Home Depot. 

    I work about 5 mins from here and reside in Chicago, so I really wanted to lovingly recreate this airport as it really is. Since this is my 1st attempt, some things ( like the hangar types and roofs) are not exactly like in real life, but i tried to use the stock hangars in the MFS SDK to get as close to real as possible. 

    I also really wanted this airport to feel like it is a living, breathing airport, from people and pilots walking around, to small aircraft parked, to the surrounding area seeming more lifelike, with 3d cars and trucks in the parking lots ( these will be visible when you practice trafic patterns from the single Runway 18/36. 

    I also recreated a water tower which is right next to this airport, and is a VFR reference. The original water tower is blue but i dont yet know how to modify textures/ colors in blender.

    You're welcome ! I work down the road from here , and sometimes me and my boys have breakfast at Charlie's in summer. Someday ihope i can get my PPL here , or maybe KMDW! This was my first SDK designed/ re-edited airport and though buildings are not exact, at least its way more accurate than the generic airport.

    Yes, i want to fix all the Chicago airports! Was thinking of doing Midway first, but thats a big project. I think i will have a quick look at Chicago Executive and see what it needs. Thanks for trying this out!

    Just finished chicago Midway, KMDW. Now am going to start working on Chicago Executive airport after a few days break.

    Thank you, i love the focus/ depth of focus function in MFS, really makes some of those photos look great!

    Version History

    I fixed some of the taxiway parkings, missing airplanes; and also brightened up the aprons to make them look more true to life. Also resized the windsocks a bit more, and added a few more parking spots.
