Campbell River Seaplane Base CAE3 - Image 1

    Description

Located on Vancouver Island at the Discovery Passage Campbell River has a history in salmon fishing, logging, mining. The city is a good starting point to hop over to the many lodges on the Discovery Islands. So, it is a perfect location for all kinds of seaplane and helicopter operations, and it’s really crying for a Beaver!

The water aerodrome on the tip of Tyee Spit is home to Corilair Charter, Vancouver Island Air and West Coast Helicopters.

It depends on the tide level, during low tide be aware of the shallow water for your way in and out. Lead markers with flashing lights will guide you on a safe track in.

Many Objects are custom build by me like piers, bridges and the eagle hangar. Please download my Seaplane library here on flightsim.to, as well as the other great Libraries from, Mikea.at, ESD (https://emeraldscenerydesign.com/), Superspud and Jpfil (see his page jpfil.com for his static floatplanes)

Docks 1 to 4 are on water, parking position 11 in front of the eagle hangar. Dock 22 is made for the Beaver. Dock 3 is for bigger Planes.

For helicoper ops use positions 31, 41 and 42 (40's are West Coast Helicopter).

The ramps into the water are not taxi-in/out you should be pulled out, they are steep in real life. I spend many hours to flaten and terraform, its just not working the way i wanted, so they are even steeper in the sim..

Have fun flying low and slow

I used two Buildings from World Update UK for the WestCoast Helicopter Hangar and the CorilAir FOB, no worries if you don't have it installed.

Hi. Love the seaplane base! Would it be possible to release a version or option without the lighthouse at Cape Mudge?
It interferes with the Misty Moorings scenery. Your model is great, but problematic for those using BC Lighthouses scenery.

Hi, yes absolutely. Let me check the BC Lighthouses, there are different ways to handle it, haven’t been aware of that mod. I’ll take a look as soon as i am back home from a work trip.

The trip took a bit longer than expected , but the RTMM Lighthouse model is now excluded, had to move my model a little bit. It's still flashing though. WIP but Version 0.4 is up ;)

Nice Work, although I Did notice some severe terraforming Issues around the Docking area.

The area looks weird without my terraforming, a big mountain of water. I had to flatten it and then raise the coast again. I'm glad you like it anyway

Absolutely, thanks, really enjoy your work, I left you a DM on discord concerning another scenery, CAK6 Details on the DM along with pictures. Big tugboat appears in front of the guy's sitting on the Dock

is there a reason why there are two files? it's always confosing when mods use more than one folder...

One for Scenery and one for the objects, makes it way easier for your developer 😉 to create new things.

Just checked the new files, they are up and are working. Please check that both directories (cae3 + jay-campbell) from the zip-file are in your community folder or are linked there.

Just downloaded the files myself, copied the files and started the sim. Sitting on the dock.
