    EGAU Strathallan Skydive

    Some users are seeing oversized box trailer ( food truck ) and a replacement model has now been intoduced.  Also some tree removal west of the airfield.

    Version 1.3

    This version now re-positions the airfield and added surrounds in line with the latest Bing background map.  More detail has also been added around the airfield.

    Version 1.2

    WARNING:-  Over the last two/three months we have been seeing two versions of Bing Maps appearing randomly,  somtimes changing several times in the same day.  This package has been designed to work with the the map that was everpresent in MSFS2020 from it's release until recently.  When the 'other' map is showing then some elements of this package will not look as intended.

    Retexturing of runway,  parking area and taxiway to replicate the close cut grass that is present in these areas.

    Replacement windsocks

    Additional vehicles placed around the airfield.

    More fencing added.

    Additional livestock in fields on approach.

    Extra animated people.

    Version 1.0 

    This is an upgrade to default scenery for this airfield.

    The few custom made buildings have been carried through from FSX and then P3D,  so there are no fancy shiny new fangled texturing,  having said that most small airfields don't have shiny new buildings anyways!

    This latest version has had some grass cuting done to taxiways.

    Some fences near clubhouse have been remodelled

    The former aircraft museum has had the roof re-textured

    Strathallan is a small airfield situated in rural Perthshire Scotland.  It has one 640m grass strip,  aircraft parking and fuel.  Being centrally situated in Scotland the airfield is very accessible for GA traffic form many other locations around the country. 

    Skydive Strathallan,  founded in 1960, is the oldest and largest skydiving centre in Scotland,  with three aircraft.   They provide beginners courses in both solo and tandem skydiving and the club is also a full facilty for lincensed skydivers.

    Possibly best to delete previous version and then unzip the latest file to your Community Folder

    I'm not sure if anyone else has this problem, but on my PC the latest update of Strathallan has a missing grass texture in front of the main clubhouse - see the image below. Also, the taxiway strip alongside the runway is a very luminous green compared to the rest of the grass. Apart from these issues, it is a great scenery to complement your other airfields and airports which are essential to a full enjoyment of flights around Scotland!

    I am guessing you are using the file in MSFS2024. At this point it is only fully compatible with MSFS2020.

    Sorry that I didn't specify which version I am using, but it is still MSFS2020. I would be interested if anyone else has experienced this or if it is a strange glitch with my system or a conflict with other scenery. I have Orbx British Isles mesh - might this affect your scenery?

    I have a simliar issue to triflyman.
    Large trailer on the edge of the field.
    I have uninstalled and reinstalled various times, but with no joy.
    It looks great otherwise!
    I have used your products on various versions of MS flightsim - thank you for all your great work!
    I am a real world private pilot, and have landed at Strathallan - this is a very realistic addon!

    I have a very large trailer at parking spot 2...any idea how to get rid of it. Otherwise looks like a great scenery mod. See attached jpeg. Thanks.

    Many thanks for checking out the package.
    I have downloaded and installed the latest version of the airfield and I am not finding this problem. The object is a catering van, parked just off the airfield.
    I would suggest re-downloading the file and doing a fresh install, after deleting the install you already have.

    Did not help. Would it be possible to just delete that item. Let me know what it's called and I can try. I found one items called "van_red" , but that wasn't it.

    Brilliant - spent a year there every weekend in 1990-1991 and got my BPA Cat 8. Then student life took a toll on cash :-) Tim / Billy / Ronnie the pilot of TJ / Star Hotel / B&B signs...don't ask...the best days ever and after checking out several other UK DZ's *by far* the best bunch were at Strathallan ! Been checking the scenery map today and boom ! The cut grass taxiways look bang on, the fuel area...it's all as I remember. The guy walking along the fence is a bit 'glitchy' - suggest to just remove him. Thanks Scotflight-nice one !
