    Description

The Colorado River - from the Rocky Mountains to the Gulf of California.

This is now the 3rd bush trip written especially for the Twin Otter. If you browse flightsim.to often, you will have noticed that there is already a trip over the Colorado River written by Frontech for a light aircraft.
    https://de.flightsim.to/file/24196/fly-the-colorado-river-upstream
However, we did not copy from each other but agree that everyone has contributed his own views and techniques here.

The Colorado (Spanish for red-colored or colored) is the largest and most important river in southwestern North America. It is 1,260 U.S. miles (2,333 kilometers) long. Agriculture, drinking water, and electricity supplies in the southwestern United States and parts of California depend heavily on the water regime of the Colorado River. To this end, a large number of irrigation projects of various sizes were implemented between the late 19th century and the 1980s.

The Colorado River with its tributaries has created many unique landscapes through erosion. On its way from the Rocky Mountains to the Gulf of California, the Colorado River flows through several canyons, including Glenwood Canyon in Colorado, Glen Canyon in Utah, Marble Canyon and Grand Canyon in Arizona, offering every simulator pilot a unique landscape and flight experience, if you dare to fly low through the canyons.

    Have fun with it, Koschi.

    Specification:

    • The trip has a length of 943 NM, with 13 legs.
    • You fly with a DHC-6 Twin Otter. The aircraft is interchangeable with some manual work, see exchange file. Alternatively there is the MissionChanger from BuffyGC.
    • There are 2 tiles with the same trip but with 2 different paints.
    • The trip is translated into all MSFS languages except Chinese and Japanese. The basic language is German. The other languages are machine translated and may contain errors. If you have a better translation, feel free to send it to me.
    • A GPS course is available that can be obtained. (see "Frequently Asked")
    • The GPS course does not always follow the course of the river exactly. Navigate with the HDG button.
    • Weather is freely selectable. Live weather is preset.

    https://de.flightsim.to/file/24196/fly-the-colorado-river-upstream

What a great route. Too bad I missed so much scenery while waiting for the "text to speech" popup to go away. 4 minutes on each leg! Arrrg. Otherwise, it's a 5-star.

I wish someone would fix the water going up the sides of the mountains the entire length of it. And other rivers.

Hi Koschi, Thanks for the beautiful bush trip. Have a question. Is there a way to eliminate the on screen Head Up display? Thanks. Sam

Yes, the HUD should be able to be turned off in the settings.

I just checked. The HUD in the exterior view cannot be turned off. The HUD in the Kokpit should be turned off.

Those bush trips are so much fun. I’m doing it in the Kodiak which I thought would be an appropriate replacement for the Twotter.

    Great work as always!

    Hallo Koschi,

Eine liebevoll gemachte, fantastischer Flug. It feels strange to fly the Colorado River from the source to the coast. I was so accustomed in my trip to fly the other way around. With Live Weather active, the snowy mountains and iced rivers give spectacular images. Beautiful. Recommended for everyone who wants to fly and go sightseeing. Your comments is a lot of reading, but very informative.

    Cheers,

    Frontech

Koschi - DL is missing the main bush mission. Can you add it asap?

Oh, there has been a nasty mix-up. Now it should work. Thanks for the hint.
