Description
This is a perfect little airport for the neatsters on Beaver Island. I dare say those more casual pilots would venture over to Welk Airport, just a little north of here. I have not done it yet as I have no images. There were a few of this one so it won out for the moment.
The patrons of Beaver Island must be very happy with their cedar shake and siding, very cool, terminal building. I did my best to make it look as it is. Sorry about the feable attempt at Christmas lights.
This is also a great little hop n stop island if you are exploring the region. I hear fishing is great.
Head north and see the Mackinac Bridge and refuel at Mackinac St. Ignace at the Philips 66 before heading over for a horse ride at Mackinac Island.

Porty Hardy Airport CYZT
Port Hardy is one of the most important airports on Vancouver Island and is home to Wilderness Seaplane which continues to serve the region with a fleet of Gruman Goose'. It has an ILS with glideslope on Rwy 11 - dial in 109.5 for the localizer and glideslope. It has a new terminal building in which the roof resembles the cross section of a wing. I spent some wonderful days up in that area at Telegraph Cove - 40 miles south, but have been a fan of this wild and beautiful part of Canada for years. See the artwork of Emily Carr for instance. I wanted to incorportate some of the artwork of the coastal indigineous peoples -Kwakiutl First Nations -so I included them as highlighted in the terminal building. (dugout canoe and exterior facade)
