    Description

    Hay River, now renamed Merlyn Carter Airport, is a major regional link to Canada's North West Territories.  It sits on the delta of the Hay River as it flows into the Great Slave Lake, which was an important waterway for trade. 

    Normally there are several Buffalo Airlines cargo DC3's on the field however I could not find any static aircraft for this model. The good news is you can download a Buffalo livery -

    Great addon but the taxiways and terminal area should be grey ashphalt not gravel, I have pics if you need ref.

    That's unfortunate.. I doubt it is anything to do with the airport, however.

    I may be wrong but my research leads me to believe the ICAO for this airport is CYHY, not CYHA - which is Quaqtaq airport, which is what I was originally searching for!

    ps I think the DC-3 that will be included in the msfs november update will have a Buffalo Airways livery.

    Port Hardy is one of the most important airports on Vancouver Island and is home to Wilderness Seaplane which continues to serve the region with a fleet of Gruman Goose'.  It has an ILS with glideslope on Rwy 11 -  dial in 109.5 for the localizer and glideslope.  It has a new terminal building in which the roof resembles the cross section of a wing.   I spent some wonderful days up in that area at Telegraph Cove - 40 miles south, but have been a fan of this wild and beautiful part of Canada for years. See the artwork of Emily Carr for instance. I wanted to incorportate some of the artwork of the coastal indigineous peoples -Kwakiutl First Nations -so I included them as highlighted in the terminal building.  (dugout canoe and exterior facade)
