Chandler Municipal Airport (KCHD) - Phoenix, Arizona
Chandler Municipal Airport (CHD) is just 18 miles southeast of Sky Harbor International Airport and offers trouble-free access to anywhere in the region. An excellent business airport, it also is a base for charter, transport and sightseeing excursions, and is home to world-class training institutions.
With more than 200,000 operations this year, it is among the nation’s busiest general aviation airports. CHD’s location is well-situated for easy travel to southwestern U.S. markets and beyond. At the airport, Chandler Municipal offers access to air transportation services and facilities to house aviation-related businesses, which makes it an excellent choice for the growth of your company for both corporate aircraft owners and business activity.
Whenever Flight Sim servers are offline. Airport quality severly reduce in quality, as my mod adds apron layers with opacity set to half, leading to missmatching offline textures from online textures.

KCHD is one of my favs! Especially since I've done some training there. Now that we have helicopters, could there be a possible update to add the helicopter flight school on the NE side of the airport?

Just a heads up, the parking space for the pipers has now returned to the original location in front of the Chandler Air Service building. In other words, what you see on google images is correct once again. I went for a flight yesterday and took some pictures of what the parking area looks like from the ground.

Awesome thanks!

Can confirm it works with SU8 but there is heavy hit to FPS now. There are still planes sitting on their noses in one of the static areas.

Wow! Really nice work here. I did notice some flipped aircraft as well and resting on their noses. Not a huge deal but probably an issue with static GA planes. Looks great. Wonderful job. Keep it up and keep this place updated!

Fun airport. Just a couple bugs/errors I noticed.
The intersection runway hold signs in the mod have the runways flipped from what they should be (image for reference below). Also, IRL the runway hold position signs that are on taxiways that are at the ends of a runway should only list one runway in the red runway hold position sign rather than both (IE: 22R not 22R-4L). So for example if you're on taxiway November and are holding short of 22R, you should see a black box with a yellow N (indicating you're on taxiway N) and right next to it should be a red box with 22R labeled in white (indicating that you're about to enter 22R).
The taxiways that intersect a runway and aren't on the ends of a runway are the only ones that should list both runways in the red runway hold position signs (IE: 21R-4L). That style of sign is the type that is flipped btw.
Here's an FAA image for reference.

Lastly, a bunch of the aircraft at the southwest hangars/shaded area just south of the terminal/admin building are flipped over or resting on their noses in the sim.

Thank you. When I started this, the only information I had was google maps, images, and Youtube videos of pilots. A lot of things I just had to guess and fill in the blanks. I'm going to try to go through the mods here and give everything an update and fix random things that changed from world updates. Thank you for the information and resources.

Looks great but there is an issue. There is a pretty steep upgrade between the 2 parallel runways. 4R/22L seems to sit on a hill that isn't there in reality. It's pretty flat IRL. Can you flatten that?
Also the planes parked by Southwest and Hanger cafe in that small lot are very large. Normally that is filled with Southwest's Piper aircraft. Can you replace. Hard to squeeze my GA in there
over 4 years ago
I flattened out the airport to the average altitude of the two runways. Not perfectly flat, but a lot more realistic.
What spots specifically are hard to get to? Around what parking spots? I thought the fleet of aircraft in front of the Southwest Aircraft Charter building are KingAirs now a days? I unfortunately I don't have any photos or videos around the FBOs that are current, and if there are any, they are hard to find.

I can take a photo if needed. The planes in that area are mainly pipers. It's the aircraft parking area right in front of Southwest hanger. Ocasionally you get a king air in the area but they usually throw that in the hanger
over 4 years ago
I was the person who initially requested you put some king airs and similar aircraft types there. I didn't make it up out of thin air. I'm at chandler air service at least once a week and have multiple days worth of photo evidence of king airs being there.

The pipers that were parked in front of that hangar are no longer parked there. It's been that way for a few months. Hence why I requested it be changed to this current setup in the first place. Now it's usually just the occasional FBO customers and part 135 aircraft (PC12, KA, bizjets) rather than the training/rental fleet.
The owner of southwest charter bought out chandler air service. The idea was to clear out that area for FBO customers (most of the revenue generated CAS was coming from fuel service rather than flight training and rentals anyway). The pipers that belonged to the training/rental fleet were moved to the other side of the fence in what's now called "west chandler air service".

Haven't been there since the begining of the summer. My son took a intro ride and it was all pipers. Didn't realize it changed so quickly
