    Description

    Subtle Taxi Ribbon:

    This mod will change your Taxi Ribbon to make it smaller, and recoloured to green to blend well with the taxiway centrelights. This mod will make the taxi ribbon less obtrusive and more immersive when using it.

    Installation (MSFS 2020):

    • Choose only one of the size option inside the zip file and open that folder.
    • Extract the fs-base folder from that chosen size option folder to your Official Folder. It depends on where you install your MSFS. But If you're on STEAM version and you use the default install folder without changing your installation path, your default Official folder is at: 
      %AppData%\Microsoft Flight Simulator\Packages\Official\Steam
    • Replace the file when asked (this is important because if the dialog box to replace a file doesn't appear, that means you're extracting the file to a different folder structure. The main MSFS file have to be replaced with the modded file from here to make the taxi ribbon mod works).
    • If you want to use the animated orb for taxi ribbon. Extract the animated-taxi-ribbon folder into your Community folder.

    Uninstallation:

    • Download the Backup-Restore file and extract the fs-base folder to your Official folder. If you're on STEAM version, your default Official folder is at: 
      %AppData%\Microsoft Flight Simulator\Packages\Official\Steam
    • Replace the file when asked

    Installation (MSFS 2024):

    • Only the Animated Taxi Ribbon orb is compatible with MSFS 2024.
    • Extract the animated-taxi-ribbon folder and place it into your MSFS 2024 community folder. By default, your community folder is at:
    • %AppData%\Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024\Packages\Community
    Alternative Taxi Ribbon mod:

    If you prefer to retain the parking box, I recommend you check out RXP Small Taxi Helpers 3D-VR mod by CptLucky that modifies the parking box to look like painted lines on the apron while also making the taxi ribbon smaller and more immersive.

    Simple and effective addon, very useful for career mode. Any way to make a similar modification for the bright blue parking circle ?

    This doesn't work for my install because I don't have any file Asobo_UI.BGL to replace. I only have Asobo_UI_VR.BGL located at \steamapps\common\Limitless\Packages\fs-base-ui-vr\scenery\Global\scenery\Asobo_UI_VR\scenery

    Are you on MSFS 2020 or MSFS 2024? It shouldn't be inside your Steamapps installation, but it should be in your AppData folder.

    The only .BGL files of any type in AddData are:
    \AppData\Local\Programs\Neofly\addons\neofly-neofly-cargo\Scenery\neofly-cargo\NEOF2\NEOF2.bgl

    Yeah, like I said in the description page, for MSFS 2024, the only one that works is the animated taxi ribbon, and this one can just be placed on the Community Folder. The arrows don't work on MSFS 2024 yet, because it looks like the arrow BGL files are "streamed" from the MS servers, so can't be replaced that way.

    HI, nice to know if this Mod works with BATC in MSFS2024 or work it only with the inbuild ATC ?

    Hmm.. I'm not sure, this mod simply replaces the default model and texture for the default taxi ribbon. If BATC calls upon the default MSFS taxi ribbon, then technically it should work. If it doesn't call upon the default taxi ribbon or if it has its own taxi ribbon, then it's most likely won't work.

    I tested it (SU4 Beta) and it don't work for me with BATC.
    After this Test it won't work again also with the Standard ATC.

    Love this addon, have the animated version in my community folder. following a reinstall tho, I this have the bright green boxes around the gate, but last time I never had this and can't think for the life of me what it was I did to get rid of it last time. Any help would be great.

    You probably need to install the main arrow style mod first and install it to your official folder (which should be the one that can remove the parking boxes). Then install the animated ribbon to your community folder.

    Works great BUT for VR users it makes the EFB dont work....EFB in VR when you click to open it it wont work

    I can also confirm that this taxi add-on prevents the EFB in VR. Unfortunately, I can't use it in the 2024 sim for now. Still, a great add-on.

    in MSFS 2020, yes you can, you just need to install the arrow size variant into your official folder. But do not install the Animated Taxi Ribbon into your community folder, and you should have just the arrow.

    But in MSFS 2024, there's no official folder for the file to replace so I'm just calling it that it's not compatible. So you can only use the animated taxi ribbon into your community folder for MSFS 2024.
