    Description

    Scenery created with Google Maps Decoder - an amazing freeware program. Nearest airport is KGRR. Includes downtown as well as "medical mile." I may tweak this further with a higher LOD, but releasing it as is for now.


    Installation:
    Simply extract the file "GrandRapids-Michigan" into your Community Folder

    This free creation contains content from Google Maps or Google Earth. In accordance with Google Terms of Services and especially point 2.2 of Google Maps/Google Earth Additional Terms of Service, this creation is based on « fair use » or « fair dealing » of the data provided by google throught its services. No commercial use or any gain is or will ever be made by the author of this creation, who doesn’t own anything regarding google assets but a simple user Licence. According to the following document https://www.google.com/intl/en-GB/permissions/geoguidelines/, the author is freely sharing a creative application of Google Maps or Google Earth. The author will not recieve any form of retribution for sharing his work, even general donations from users of file hosting web services under the form of « rewards » or « tips ». If this content would be found somewhere where it is provided in exchange of money or any kind of retribution, I wouldn’t be with the consent of the author who will stick to strict free content creation diffusion.

    My city!! love this ! only thing i noticed is the city is dark at night. not much lighting but regardless great mod.

    This was working on the latest build until I purchased GRR from the marketplace. Too bad really it is a nice mod.

    I just loaded it again this afternoon and It woks flawlessly after the VI update. I flew at multiple altitudes, speeds and arriving at different angles. Still Looks great. Thanks for your hard work.

    My fav as I live in NW Grand Rapids. I'd really love to see it tweaked a bit - seems there are peaks n rubble on the S curve. (cars don't move on it?) I like to fly KGRR to Riverside and swing over GR. Also hoping you can add some lake shore cities and pies/light houses as the coast is fun to fly. Thank you for sharing your skills.

    Thanks so much for helping to bring Michigan into MSFS2020. I used to have an office in one of the building on the riverbank. Any chance of doing my current area...Troy? Would love to see the massive Somerset Collection complex and some other landmark buildings. Keep up the fantastic work!

    I know your mesage is a year old, but since all the base game scenery updates much of Troy is now detailed including Somerset, Kmart old HQ, etc.

    Grand Rapids looks great. Thanks! One of my favorite states scenery-wise. Any chance you will be creating photogrammetry scenery of Mackinaw City, the Mackinaw, Bridge, Mackinaw Island and St Ignace. They look really bad in MSFS. What wonderful scenery collection that would be...hint...hint...thanks!

    Unfortunately google doesn't use photogrammetry in that area, I've already looked! Hopefully MSFS's USA update will at least bring the bridge!

    Thank you, been trying to work on Michigan myself, had a small part of Kalamazoo finished, but havent been able to get the tool to work since, not even on the part I had already done.
