
Description
This is a rework of four of the airports in the Orkney Islands to stretch your Britten Norman Islander's legs, and indeed anything else for this is an inclusive space.
I couldn't be bothered to do Flotta and Lamb Holm yet but I'll get around to it.
The ones that have been graced with my presence so far are -
Eday EGED, North Ronaldsay EGEN, Sanday EGES, Stronsay EGER.
There are no more hideous buildings or fuel bays up in your face. Tarmac runways gone. Buildings replaced or added and some custom ones done. Fencing all over. A bit of light. The odd road filled in. Trees have been removed from the islands, I may have missed a few.
There isn't a convincing gravel texture for the runways so it's ground sand instead. That might feel excessively rough but it still beats baby smoothness. See how you get on.
This area doesn't like being terraformed very much so you might see the odd weird elevation, and for some reason I'm finding airports can take quite a few seconds to settle down adding items and restoring their correct heights on arrival. I'll continue to fiddle with it. I cannae figure out how to match the runway end light set ups to reality either so far.
A bit more to do elsewhere and some more detail needed for the buildings but this is enough to be getting on with.
This is five files - four airports and one asset folder. I was recycling the same textures over and over again so they may as well be combined.
You need to paste all folders individually into the community folder if you're unfamiliar with multiple files
You'll also need Out Skerries installed to see the walls and stuff.

Either way I'll have ignored it and it's raw scenery grass. I'm slowly updating this so may make it a proper runway and therefore not in need of a haircut.

Since the update my SIM lags when flying around Flotta. Would it be possible to update? Would you be able to update the island of Flotta as a payware as I'd be more than willing to pay for your time.

Hmm. There's basically nothing there. Just one building and some ground that's changed.
Is it better with this version of the airport removed and using the original?
I'm waiting for SU10 which should enable much easier creation of hedges and walls and then I'll give this a refresh.

That's in the Shetland mod here - https://flightsim.to/file/1067/shetland-islands-complete-overhaul , but there was a dedicated Fair Isle by JP who seems to have deleted all of his mods.

Roger that. I don’t get why so many come and go, especially deleting their mods after doing so much work. Can’t be because it has become payware somewhere else, since it’s now an option here.

He was infuriated by Sim Update 7 making some changes that made all of his mods impossible to edit, so I guess he gave up.
That particular problem is repaired now so maybe he'll come back. I hope so.
