Galbraith Lake Airport (PAGB) - Image 1

    Description

This version 2 is both MSFS 2020 and 2024 compatible.

This airport, just off the Dalton Highway, was a major supply link during the construction of the Alaska pipeline during the 70's.  The Dalton Highway, also called the Haul Road, is one of the northern-most roads in the world. It was originally constructed by Alyeska Pipeline Service Company to support the development of the Trans-Alaska Pipeline and to service the oil fields on Alaska’s North Slope.  This is an excellent stop on the flight from Fairbanks (PAFA) to Dead Horse (PASC) at the northern end of the pipeline.

Galbraith Lake Airport (ICAO: PAGB, FAA LID: GBH) is a state-owned, public-use airport located at Galbraith Lake in the North Slope Borough of the U.S. state of Alaska. The Arctic National Wildlife Refuge has an office at the airport. The lake and airport are located west of the Dalton Highway and north of the Trans-Alaska Pipeline System's Pump Station 4. According to the FAA's National Plan of Integrated Airport Systems for 2009–2013, it was classified as a general aviation airport.

    Dimensions: 5,182 by 150 feet (1,579 x 46 m)
    Surface:        Gravel
    Runway:       13 / 31
    Location:      68.480525, -149.491149

    Installation:
Copy the airport folder inside of the Zip file into your MSFS Community folder.

This airport was created using Standard Asobo/Microsoft libraries found in the sim.  I also used the FREE “UK2000 Common Objects Library”, and the FREE “Emerald Objects Library” found in the sim Market Place.  If you have not previously installed these libraries in your Community folder, some objects may not be visible in your sim.  Remember, you only must install these one time.  All Microsoft World Updates should be installed also.

There is an Easter Egg installed.

I can not get it to fail.

Asking if anyone else had trouble opening this airport?

I used a different App than Winrar and opened. Maybe it doesn't get along with winrar

Nothing like landing in the middle of a mountain range! Beautiful scenery and a nice airstrip.

    Coldfoot Airport (PACX)

Coldfoot got its start as a gold mining town in the early 1900s. It now serves as a highway and pipeline maintenance camp. The airport serves to support the camp and handle tourism into the Brooks Range. As the name implies, Coldfoot can get quite cold. However, the summer months do bring temperatures into the seventies.

PASC - Deadhorse Airport - Prudhoe !SIMPLE!

PASC - Deadhorse Airport is a simple add-on for Microsoft Flight Simulator, offering basic enhancements to the airport. This update includes two custom terminals, replaced hangars, new ground textures, and updated taxiway signs. It aims to provide a more realistic representation of Deadhorse Airport, despite its simplified nature.

Five Mile Camp Airport (PAFV / FVM)

Five Mile Camp is the second of the 10 airstrips built along the 400 mile Haul Road.  The camp here was built to support construction of the highway and the North Slope pipleine.   The mostly gravel road is one of the northern most roads in the US.  Air strips were needed along the route to support the construction camps.  (See map.)

    Livengood Camp Airport (4AK)

The Alyeska Pipeline Service Company built the 400 mile "Haul Road" from Livengood, just north of Fairbanks, to the north slope oil fields at Prudhoe Bay. The pipeline parallels the road. Mostly gravel, the road was built to handle the hundreds of heavy construction vehicles that used it daily.
