    Weymouth & Isle of Portland V2 -- With Real Trees Terraforming - Image 1

    Description

    This is my second creation of Weymouth and Isle of Portland.

    Weymouth version 1 was my very first scenery to have been released on flightsim.to. Since then, I have made many more sceneries with each one, applying new techniques. 

    I feel the timing was right to do a complete re-make of this scenery with all the techniques that I have learned. I consider this a major upgrade from it's predecessor.

    Extra features include the following

    • Optimized for performance - Utilizing Thalixte's Google Earth Decoder Optimimzation Tools utility. 
    • Larger coverage area covering over 118 sq KM
    • Colour edited textures to better blend with default surrounding scenery
    • Night Lighting - Over 2000 extra points of night lighting has been added
    • Real Trees Terraforming - A special technique I have utilized. With a precision use of terraforming (and ten times the work load) This hides/replaces the oblique google tree textures with real trees.

    Hi, this is a great scenery but think it needs an update for SU10 as getting flashing squares as it loads in a flight

    Thank you for this! Would Torbay be a possibility? I know there is Google Earth photogrammetry for it as it looks awesome in Google Earth VR.
    Currently Microsoft has trees sprouting from Brixham breakwater and Torquay harbour and Paignton Pier are mostly underwater...

    You must have read my mind. I started to make Torquay as soon as I finished Weymouth.. So far, it is looking really nice. I will make the main town and POI in a higher detail

    You can get a handcrafted Paignton Pier made by me at Flightsim.com. Just got to the scenery library there and search for "pier" and you will see a few other UK piers there too.

    Hi Stinger, Funnily enough, I just discovered a Paignton Pier mod this week from a Keith Hackett, is that you? If so, it's fantastic, I posted a video up of it on the MSFS Devon, Cornwall, and Dorset Facebook group only today.

    Hi Lash, just wondering, in relation to Stinger2k2's pier mod which I'm currently using, will your scenery conflict with that, i.e create two piers or stop it from working? I'm also using We Love VFR's excellent mod which gives me the two masts on Beacon Hill overlooking Paignton and would hate to lose them. With your mods, is there a way to get them to work with existing mods so that I can keep the pier and masts?

    I can certainly make a patch and see if I can fit these in. Have you got a link to the pier?... I cant seem to find it.. I will have a look at the other items too :)

    I'm getting a CTD when ever I enter the Weymouth area, I installed it via a mod manager but it appears to be installed correctly.

    Sorry to hear that. Could be corrupt xml line.. are you able to delete the weymouth xml lines?.. msfs will rebuild them.. see if that works

    Fantastic update, Pity other coastal towns do not look as good as this. Framerate holds well
