    Description

    After a couple of months of work, I present the MD-11 sound enhancement.

    Be aware, this is very much still in a beta phase and updates will follow.

    First of all this is not a total conversion of the sounds, this mod for now primarily enhances the interior soundscape.

    This includes:

    • Completely overhauled PW and GE interior engine sounds tuned to match the real thing as closely as possible using available reference material.
    • Custom inside and outside ac packs.
    • Custom airframe wind sounds which change depending whether you are at the back as a pax or in the front as a pic.
    • Custom APU external sounds with startup and shutdown sequence.
    • Various other small sound enhancements.

    This mod has only been tested on 2024 version of the aircraft, 2020 compatibility is not guaranteed.

    !! NOTE !!

    Package has been updated to drag and drop installation

    Any unauthorized reverse-engineering, re-distribution or modification of pc.pck files and its contents is not allowed

    Greetings, great sounds I am hoping someone can one day capture that whooing sound when the engine lights off on CF-6s. I flew the DC10 for 9 years and that sound is iconic. It's a deep sound as well and you can hear it clearly in the cockpit. You start to hear it when the EGT starts to climb. https://youtu.be/w86W0gp_C2o?si=6Nyz1sB3mtRQAk3k

    With the latest 0.51 build, PACKS airflow sounds in the cockpit seem to be very quiet if not absent - was that intentional ?

    **** DRAG & DROP INSTALL NOW AVALIBLE WITH v5.1 ****

    As of today June 7, 2026 these addon sounds are now EASY INSTALL DRAG and DROP! I couldn't get the old editing install way to work when I downloaded and tried to use, but now they are easy drag and drop install, they are much better then the default sounds,

    @Genista I am not the developer, I am just a fellow simmer and when I noticed in the version history that it is now Drag and Drop Install I wanted to share that news in a way that stood out incase some dont read version history nor did it stand out in a way to be seen easier for users who had a hard time trying to install the old install way,

    PS: I personally think the air flow sounds in the default sounds were to loud and personally i like the lower air flow sounds in the flight deck, but that would be a question for the developer,

    Can you please post a video on how to install this? I really want to try it out but it's hard to install for someone like myself who isn't very tech savvy.

    Both the GE and PW sounds are far better than the ones that come with the MD11. This really adds great immersion to the aircraft.

    My GE aircraft is totally silent, no sounds at all. PW works fine and sounds great. Any idea what I could have fumbled lol

    TFDi MD-11 Sound enhancement

    This add-on enhances the interior sound environment of the TFDi MD-11 in Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024. It features overhauled engine sounds for both PW and GE variants, custom air conditioning and wind effects, and improved APU sounds. Users experience different soundscapes depending on their location in the aircraft. Installation requires manual editing and is only tested for the 2024 version.

    Version History

    - Drag and drop installation - GE improvements from A330 pack transferred to the MD11 sounds - PW sounds have had a complete overhaul. - Improved ground roll sounds - Audio levels have been tweaked across the board for both engines and ambient sounds. - Reverser sounds are still a bit wip and will be refined in further releases.
