    Description

    After a couple of months of work, I present the MD-11 sound enhancement.

    Be aware, this is very much still in a beta phase and updates will follow.

    First of all this is not a total conversion of the sounds, this mod for now primarily enhances the interior soundscape.

    This includes:

    • Completely overhauled PW and GE interior engine sounds tuned to match the real thing as closely as possible using available reference material.
    • Custom inside and outside ac packs.
    • Custom airframe wind sounds which change depending whether you are at the back as a pax or in the front as a pic.
    • Custom APU external sounds with startup and shutdown sequence.
    • Various other small sound enhancements.

    This mod has only been tested on 2024 version of the aircraft, 2020 compatibility is not guaranteed.

    Am I the only one getting crackling sounds in exterior view? Is there any fix?
    Might that be an installation issue? I just drag and dropped into Community :(

    Excellent work. This aircraft has been through so many iterations of sounds throughout the Collector's Edition beta and as far as engines and sound balancing go, this is by far the best yet even after 1.0. Well done and thank you very much

    External PW4000 audio still has CF-6 ignition audio both inside and outside. Also CF-6 shutdown audio inside for the PW engines which of course doesn't match the external audio.

    any chance you could possibly upload a file of the old version of this sound pack? the exterior sounds are identical but interior in my opinion need to be reverted to original. that and its perfect

    Highly recommend making the startup sounds as heard form the COCKPIT to be less loud. It sounds like im sitting over the pylon.

    I regret that the native sound emphasizes the engines too much in cockpit. I shall lower the cursor to 20. In addition, at high altitude in cruise, the cabin is too silent.     Awesome soundpack, seem there is no conflic with FTsim+ one. However, the startupsound when putting fuel in, it too loud in the cockpit. Can it be lowered ? in the GE version. The PW version is great

    One small issue. The PW4000 startup sounds uses CF6-80 audio. If possible can you please fix that? Thanks!

    Used to fly the MD-11 for UPS up towards the retirement, you deserve my greatest praise for this amazing addon for the audio improvement. My only thought on things to improve is the engine distance from the flightdeck is way to oblivious to be heard, in the real world the engine would be muffled.

    Sounds are fantastic but I have one issue. When in the cabin view I keep hearing this popping or clicking sound every few seconds. Most notable forward of the engines. Sounds fine everywhere else. I thought this may have been caused by the CPU being overloaded, but usage is nowhere near the max. I've seen this before with other soundsets and have never been able to pinpoint the root cause.

    The usual cause is from my end. There are 37 individual audio samples per engine. (thats for engine sounds, not systems) + roughly the same for systems. If one of those has a bad crossfade then it sort of pops or clicks. It would be glad to know if this is during cruise or idling to identify the sound that is misbehaving

    Thank you for looking into this. It seems to occur only when the engines are running during all phases of flight.

    This add-on enhances the interior sound environment of the TFDi MD-11 in Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024. It features overhauled engine sounds for both PW and GE variants, custom air conditioning and wind effects, and improved APU sounds. Users experience different soundscapes depending on their location in the aircraft. Installation requires manual editing and is only tested for the 2024 version.
