    Description

    After a couple of months of work, I present the MD-11 sound enhancement.

    Be aware, this is very much still in a beta phase and updates will follow.

    First of all this is not a total conversion of the sounds, this mod for now primarily enhances the interior soundscape.

    This includes:

    • Completely overhauled PW and GE interior engine sounds tuned to match the real thing as closely as possible using available reference material.
    • Custom inside and outside ac packs.
    • Custom airframe wind sounds which change depending whether you are at the back as a pax or in the front as a pic.
    • Custom APU external sounds with startup and shutdown sequence.
    • Various other small sound enhancements.

    This mod has only been tested on 2024 version of the aircraft, 2020 compatibility is not guaranteed.

    Package has been updated to drag and drop installation

    Any unauthorized reverse-engineering, re-distribution or modification of pc.pck files and its contents is not allowed

    I've tested the overhauled PW sound during a flight. My only experience are DVDs and Youtube videos of Swissair flights, so I'm not a specialist at all. however, I ask if you set up the spooling sound from cockpit too strong. I've the impression to be on ground on a whining A220 from idle until 40 % N1.

    Don't be afraid of change, petal, come on in the water's lovely. That, and the performance boost over 2020 is nothing short of breathtaking.

    Great sounds, but they eliminate all GPWS and verbal warning sounds which is a deal breaker

    This package doesnt touch the default GPWS or warning sounds whatsoever. If having sound issues, try to regenerate layout.json in the package, 2024 is notoriously picky if ANY file size is different in the .json file. + It would be nice if people would either report a bug in the discord server or via DM etc. before blatantly stating that this package breaks this or that.

    Slap the PW sounds from this MD-11 pack in the A300 and bingo, basically the same exact sound.

    In my opinion I really hope this sound maker will work on the css 737 as those sounds are really bad and need a soundpack.

    @aekki Could you please do a soundpack for the css 737-300, 737-400 as they are really bad!

    TFDi MD-11 Sound enhancement

    This add-on enhances the interior sound environment of the TFDi MD-11 in Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024. It features overhauled engine sounds for both PW and GE variants, custom air conditioning and wind effects, and improved APU sounds. Users experience different soundscapes depending on their location in the aircraft. Installation requires manual editing and is only tested for the 2024 version.

    Even though the changelog is not lengthy both variants have seen a semi major overhaul regarding soundscape. PW: Fixed PW Startup sequence. Fixed PW spool and pitch curve from initial spool to buzz. Fixed PW initial spool sound and high pitch whine to reflect irl sound. Fixed PW alt/speed filtering and attenuation. PW buzzaw sound tuned. GE: Introducing GE external sounds (still wip and might have issues) Fixed GE spool from N1 idle to 70% to reflect irl sounds (needs a bit further tuning) GE Alt/speed filtering of sounds tuned GE buzzaw tuned Removed GE excessive spoolup howl COMMON: New airframe wind/drag sounds Rebalanced misc audio levels (packs, electrics, wind sounds etc)
