    Guidelines and Regulations

    General Rules for User Uploads

Every upload on Flightsim.to must follow these rules.

    Feb 24, 20267,727 views

These rules appear before your first upload. Every add-on you upload to Flightsim.to must follow them. If any rule is broken, your upload will be rejected or removed. These guidelines apply to all uploads and help keep the platform clear, consistent, high-quality, and trustworthy for everyone.

    Titles & Capitalization

    • Titles must clearly and accurately describe the content — no misleading claims.
    • ALL CAPS or all lowercase titles are not allowed.
    • Capitalize proper nouns (airlines, aircraft types, cities, airports, brands, people, etc.) correctly.
    • Use title case style: capitalize major words; keep minor words (articles, short prepositions, most adjectives/adverbs) lowercase — unless they are the first word.
    • For scenery uploads: the title must start with the ICAO code (if one exists), e.g. "EDDF Frankfurt Airport – Enhanced".
    • Keep titles short, simple, and factual. Avoid:
      • Unnecessary symbols, emojis, or spam
      • Clickbait phrases (“Best Ever”, “Ultra Realistic”, “Epic”, “Must Have”…)
      • Vague titles (“A320 Livery”) — always specify airline + variant if relevant
      • Overly long promotional titles
    • Good example: "EDDF Frankfurt – Winter 2026 Update".
    • Bad example: "THE BEST 8K MEGA REALISTIC LUFTHANSA A320 LIVERY EVER!!!"

✅ Description – Must Be in English

    • Every upload requires a description in English. You may add translations in other languages, but the English version is mandatory.
    • Uploads without an English description will be deactivated.
    • Write a clear, helpful description that answers what users need to know before downloading:
      • Supported simulator version(s) (MSFS 2020, 2024, both?)
      • Required dependencies / other add-ons
      • Basic installation steps
      • Known issues or limitations
    • Use structured formatting for readability: short paragraphs, bold for emphasis, headings, bullet points, numbered lists.

    ❌ Copyright & Permission

    • You may only upload content you created yourself or for which you have explicit written permission from the original creator.
    • This applies to both freeware and paid content.
    • Never upload repacks, ports, or conversions without permission — even if you give credit.
    • If we receive a valid copyright complaint (DMCA or similar), the content will be removed immediately. Contact support (with the reference number) if you believe it was a mistake.

❌ No Guides, Tutorials, Documents, or Lists (except checklists)

    • Flightsim.to is for in-game add-ons and mods only.
    • We do not allow guides, tutorials, PDF manuals, charts, airport/facility lists, or similar non-functional content — except checklists that are designed for in-sim use.

❌ No Sound Packs or Cabin Announcements

    • Sound packs, cabin announcements, sound mods, etc. are not permitted on this platform.

❌ No Empty, Incomplete, Preview, or Placeholder Files

    • Only upload finished or meaningfully usable add-ons.
    • Allowed: Early Access / Work-in-Progress versions — if they are functional and provide real value to users.
    • Not allowed: empty ZIPs, “Read-Me only” files, preview images alone, “test” files, pure placeholders, or files that do nothing useful.
    • Uploads must be working products related to Microsoft Flight Simulator.

❌ No External Downloads or Redirects

    • All files must be uploaded directly to Flightsim.to.
    • Links to third-party sites, Google Drive, MediaFire, etc. are forbidden.
    • We want everything in one trusted place — no broken links or risky external downloads.

    ✅ Screenshots – Required

    • You must include at least two in-game screenshots that clearly show your add-on in action.
    • Minimum resolution: 512 × 512 px.
    • Use relevant, high-quality images. Irrelevant or placeholder pictures will lead to rejection/removal.

    ✅ Virus & Malware Check

    • Before uploading, scan your file with VirusTotal — it must show 0/0 detections.
    • Any detection (even suspected false positives) will result in rejection.
    • Rejected due to malware? See our help article on how to appeal or fix it.

✅ Level of Quality & Originality

    • Add-ons should show a reasonable level of effort and quality.
    • You may take inspiration from others, but the work must be your own (or properly permitted).
    • Pure spam, joke uploads, or items with no real value to the community are not allowed.

✅ Scenery: GPS Coordinates for the Map

    • For scenery add-ons: enter the exact latitude/longitude in the provided field.
    • This is optional but strongly recommended — otherwise your scenery won’t appear on our interactive Scenery Map.

✅ File Naming – Best Practice

    • Use descriptive, clear file names so users immediately understand the content.
    • Good: "A350-900_Lufthansa_D-ABCD_4K.zip" Bad: "OPEN_ME_FIRST.zip", "file1.zip", "test.zip"
    • Keep naming consistent across your uploads.

    ❌ No Multi-Part / Split Archives

    • Maximum file size per add-on: 3.0 GB.
    • Splitting into Part 1 / Part 2 / RAR parts is not allowed.
    • Every add-on must be complete and downloadable as one independent file.

    ℹ️ Donationware & Paid Content

    • All uploads must be completely free — no paywalls, no “donate to unlock”, no exclusive paid updates.
    • You may ask for voluntary donations, but nothing may be offered in return (no tiers, no extras).
    • Want to sell content? Apply for a vendor account in the Flightsim.to Store.

These rules help keep Flightsim.to a clean, reliable, and enjoyable place for the entire flight simulation community. Thank you for respecting them — it makes the platform better for everyone. If anything is unclear, feel free to ask the moderation team before uploading. Safe flights! ✈️
